What size socket?

Featured Replies

I want a 1/2" drive socket for wheel lugnuts, 97 OBW. Any ideas on what size this would be.

Bonus question:

What size is the cam nut on my DOHC 2.5.

Ryan

a 3/4" socket will work well with the lugnuts too since 19mm in 0.748in.

Probably need a 'deep' style socket - 6 sided probably preferred.

Actually, standard size is fine for both of those applications. Prefer a 6 point socket, 1/2" drive for them.

dont substitute 17mm for 11/16" its not close enough for me. and if you have any 21mm the 13/16 sometimes does not cut it.

No, the rest of the world never bothered with SAE... :)

BTW you may want to avoid cheap impact sockets with Subaru wheels as they are too thick and will rub on some of the styles of the alloys.

Actually, i've found the opposite to be true, my matco and snapon stockets are too big for a lot of the really cheap aftermarket wheels, but my 12 pt crapsman fits in there real nice.
