November 1, 200520 yr picked it up friday.not really what i was expecting (kappy kind of lied about the interior and a couple dents) it still is rust free and has alot of potential.the interior is shot, but it probly runs better than any other sube i`ve owned. after taking off the cap, cleaning it up, undercoating the unibody, and painting the wheels, here is how she looks.
November 1, 200520 yr Ugly, but clean. That makes my Arizona BRAT look like my first 77 NorthEast BRAT.
November 1, 200520 yr Everyone fibs about the condition of things, when they sell them. Put the Brat decals on her, a little TLC and she'll be fine. Not to worry. It'll work.
November 1, 200520 yr Hehe, very nice, practically identical to my one. Black steels aye, don't look half bad. I might have to copy you on that one.
November 1, 200520 yr WHOA its like looking at my brat in the mirror...(technicaly that doesn't make any sence... but you get the idea...) very nice! mine needs a wee spot of rust repair... undercoat is probably a decent idea!
November 1, 200520 yr Author thanks for all the comments guys!i used that rubberized undercoating on the frame. (for all of about 6 bucks) did the whole thing.it improves the look and protects from rusting.fyi, its a pain to get off your hands, trust me, i ended up using gas. i love the way the black looks on these steelies, kind of gives the truck a utility look.going to put some chrome trim rings on the wheels also.the best paint for wheels is engine or heat paint (made by krylon, comes in a spray can) it has a much harder and better looking finish that regular spray paint.
November 1, 200520 yr I love the look of gen 1 Brats! That thing has a ton of potential! Good score, especially if it runs good.
November 1, 200520 yr Sweet! So what are your plans for the little Subie? Inquiring minds want to know... Glenn 82 SubaruHummer 84 GL Mad Max 01 Forester
November 1, 200520 yr Very nice looking brat.I like the wheels too.Are you starting any mods to it yet? Disc brake upgrade or suspension? The metal on those brats are friggin' beefy.Very strong.
November 1, 200520 yr Author i will be adding a weber in the next couple weeks, then an accel coil and electric disty swap.in the process of putting together some kind of decent interior, and putting in a CD player.also putting in a cyclops light Phatbrat just sold me.brake and susp maybe after the winter.i love this little thing, runs smoother than my Dad's forester:lol: also built like a tank:D thanks for the replies guys
