Amber Door Lock Light?????

Featured Replies

can somebody tell me how to turn it off??????it's on my 92 loyale wagon.i want to keep all doors unlocked because i use the wagon for delivery,i drive all night and the light is driving me nuts!!!!!!!!thanks,Bill

Pull the gauge cluster out and remove the bulb.

Doesn't sound like that much of a bad idea... may do that when I reassemble the interior in my project car. That light is annoying.

Short out the lock circuits in the doors themselves...anyone have a pic of the inside of the lock mechanism? IIRC it's a normally open circuit that results in the light being on. (You'll only need to do this for the 3 passenger doors, by the way--there is no wiring in the driver's door or tailgate.)

i was wondering if it's a plug somewhere to short out instead of going and taking apart all 3 doors.???????

If you short out the plug, you may very well short out everything on it's circut. That could include your whole dash lights ( not sure) Your best bet is to just yank the bulb, or cover it up.

lock the doors, crawl out the windows  :-p

I tried very extensively to disable this....to no avail. I found that everything relatively accessable will also disable the power locks. the only way is to either pull the cluster, and pull the bulb. or put some electrical tape over it (just a large piece in the general vicinity on the plastic cover will do, my latest wagon came like that)

though if you find a way...I'd love to know it!!

pull the cluster, and pull the bulb.

Numbchux wins the thread.
