uhhh.....

1st thing... your 6 doesnt have a frame. 2nd thing here is a short list of things you will have to do/deal with:

1. Tranny will not match... either change out for a legacy tranny, or get an adapter plate. Personally I'd go leg tranny... that way you can get the clutch/fly hop-ups from imps....

2. Lower engine mounts will not match up... you can either make custom motor mounts or try using a crossmember from a legacy.

3. engine management... you can either go stock, and pull the harness or be like me and build a harness... or you can go MS... or perfect power... gonna need something....

theres probably more, but this is no small project....

i think that since the XT and XT6 are both EA-style cars that it will fit. the EJ22T shouldnt be as long as the ER27 so you might have some extra room.

edit: dont the XT6 and EA82 motor share the same crossmember? if not thenyou will have to make custom motor mounts. use the legacy tranny if you want, but i think that the 4eat in the XT6 can handle it, that is if you have the 4EAT.

i thought about it but my engine is toast and i've heaRD THE ER27 tops out at about 300-350 hp

and i really want to eat wrx's for breakfast the ej22t can push400 with no internal modification

edit: and i mean toast it is pcv less and it still eats 1 or more quarts of oil per 500 miles

they have drawbacks as far as high output is concerned. subarubrat looked into turbo options and decided against the ER27T due to block design, cooling ability, oil supply, oil galleys, etc. for reliable high power, the EJ is probably the way to go.

the EJ series mounts line up fine with EA series cars so i don't think the EJ would be that far off in the XT6. might have to take a drill to the existing motor mount holes, but that's no big deal.

probably better off getting an EJ trans, but you could just get an adapter plate for your XT6 transmission so the engine bolts up. not sure if you'd have to move the trans forward to meet up with the trans, but if you did you'd have to have the driveshaft lengthened. if you stayed with the XT6 trans you wouldn't have to worry about the hubs, cv axle differences, drive shaft differences, swapping the rear diff and cv's, linkages. but the EJ is probably a better trans.

Kingbobdole here, stealing Noss's intraweb.... Id just like to say that I would think he'd rather go with the EJ series tranny cuz... I know the cvs are the same and the lenght is the same... the issue is the rear mounts, which I'm not sure on.... also the adapter plate would be easier but priceyerer er.... if you get a donor turbo leg, that'll make it easy... just depends on how much power you plan to make andd in an XT6 somewhere in the 170 horse to the ground area will make you take down a WRX... they are not that fast... my xt6 can take down a stock wrx....

As far as the engine goes... I'd either just try a combo of motor mounts and cross members till it fit... worst case, you have to do a bit of modding, but the motor mounts for the 6 and ejt are VERY similar... just the blot is off a bit which makes me think its cake to get it in there.....

as far as engine management goes... I'd rethink MS at that... yeah yeah yeah I said it before, but there are many prefabbed things that will go on an EJ and be cake to make work... MS is a little bit more hands on... and I'll lend you a hand, but if you cant figure it out, theres no reason to have it, get something more basic...

The ER27 being "unturboable" is total CRAP... I will prove it my self if I have to... I just need 2 more parts:burnout:

leave the old transmission in until you blow it.. then you know for sure you need some more beef

i agree i'm not sure about the transmission yet and i am looking for a turbo legacy to part out let me know if any thing chjeap comes up and horse power wise 350 sounds like a comfortable number for a daily driver

and i know it doiesn't have a framer i ment the crossmember but i will have to change it?

i don't get it what does that mean?

it mean's you're granny shifting not double-clutching like you should be

WARNING: DANGER TO INTAKE MANIFOLD

if you put an ej22t in your xt6 you'd better bolt down the floorboard a bit better....

and, last but not least, you owe me a 10 second car. :slobber:
