March 1, 200620 yr It's always bugged me that my Brat didn't come with a cup holder. I found a single cup holder in a '98 Impreza at the wrecking yard recently and installed it in the kick tray under the dash. A long reach but at least it's there. No more wedging my drink between the hand brake lever and seat. See the construction details in my photo gallery in the Cup Holder album. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showgallery.php?cat=818
March 1, 200620 yr great job Ed, i`ll have to try that out too! it looks like a cup holder from a forester would also work. if i had a penny for every drink i`ve spilled in a sube i`d probly have 50 cents or something, but still:D
March 1, 200620 yr Awesome! I've been meaning to do the same on my commuter 88 DL, although I might miss my auto reflex to catch my drink when stopping and taking corners.....
March 1, 200620 yr dang it, i'm dying to do this on my XT6 and XT. once i get them running i will, i already have impreza holders as well. nice job, definitely annoying not having anything.
March 1, 200620 yr Author The only thing wrong with this idea is that it will triple the cost of buying a used cup holder for an Impreza on the Board. If I remember correctly I posted this cup holder for sale a while ago for $10 plus postage and didn't get any takers.....just as well for me.
March 1, 200620 yr Thanks for the pic Ed. Great idea..I'll keep a look-out for one of those around here. It will certainly increase the comfort level in my wagon.
March 2, 200620 yr This is what I made for my 6's. Still have room for knees and can open the glove box enough to get things in & out. Both holders are adjustable. Should work on other consoles as well.
March 2, 200620 yr nice and clean interior you have there turbone:cool: i wish i could do something like that in my brat, but without them folding up, a passenger would never be comfortable. the leg area in ea81`s is a little tight for that, but xt's are definatly wider.
March 2, 200620 yr Author That is a nice arrangement Rob. Clean interior too; notice that my Brat interior isn't nearly that clean.
March 2, 200620 yr Author Ed...your a Classic......................Sparky:headbang:I guess I am; according to the state of Washington, you have to be older than 30 years to be a classic. (Sorry, that's what my kids used to call an "ed joke.")
March 2, 200620 yr after seeing this thread,i relized that my newest toy doesn't have a cupholder either. guess i'll have to figure away to mount one in my justy.of course it'll be a short time before it's a daily driver.
