May 21, 200619 yr Looks like a Photoshopped Saab to me considering that GM has (or had) a 20% stake in FHI and they have heavy stakes in SAAB I can see a bit of merit in that statement. similar idea was hatched with the impreza years ago. and yes I would like mine in black please.
May 21, 200619 yr i dunno, the lines look kinda audi-ish to me (like the new a4 cabrio...) i found this view that looks a little better (at least it has the right tail lights and stuff...)
May 21, 200619 yr Author Now yall' have got me thinking... it doesn't seem like it would be THAT hard to make one.... just a little sawzall action here & there.. some paint maybe
May 21, 200619 yr That second pic is definitely a photochop. You can see the difference in the color/shadowing between the front and rear.
May 21, 200619 yr Now yall' have got me thinking... it doesn't seem like it would be THAT hard to make one.... just a little sawzall action here & there.. some paint maybe and a lot of body reinforcement if you dont want the windsheild to pop out or the car to fold in half...... kinda of embarising when that happens. nipper
May 21, 200619 yr yeah, defintely a saab trunk on the black one. i know the beige one is photoshoped, but the black one is too, so....yeah. andy, it might not be that hard to do. top gear cut the roof off of a renault espace (english minivan thing, looks like a hemmroid...) and it worked brillantly. just gotta chose the right car. might not work on a subaru....
May 21, 200619 yr Author i suppose when i have a 'real' job, and have enough $$ to actually buy a car that nice... and afford to chop it up, i may give it a try.. but i'm going to have to say.. that'll be quite some time

Well you can do it to any car, just dont expect to get a lot of life out of it. :-\ nipper
May 22, 200619 yr weld in some steel tube, everything will be fine then BACK AWAY FROM THE TORCH! nipper
May 22, 200619 yr Well you can do it to any car, just dont expect to get a lot of life out of it. :-\ nipper nah, dude. i saw it. since that minivan wasn't a unibody (it was merely a metal box on a frame with wheels) they cut off the top and went for a ride. it is possible that the production team welded something in, but you can see it here if you got an hour or so to spare: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5126438735801408000&q=top+gear+season

They will still flex but not as badly
May 22, 200619 yr true, but who's gonna notice the difference when driving a minivan without a roof on it?
May 22, 200619 yr I'de settle for a 2dr leg or imp. i think subaru made a mistake discontinueing the 2dr.
May 23, 200619 yr yummy, and how close is that release date of the fourth of never? thanx Captain Buzzkill! sigh.... lol! Carl
May 23, 200619 yr im sorry dude. but we'll probably see an impreza hybrid before we see the convertible.... i know....life sucks, then you die....
May 23, 200619 yr Author im sorry dude. but we'll probably see an impreza hybrid before we see the convertible.... i know....life sucks, then you die.... life sucks, then you build a legacy convertable
