November 5, 200322 yr Ha, got ya! It does pertain to sap, tree sap. Whats the best way to get it off without damaging the paint? I dont want to use harsh chemicals or razor blades, does anyone know of any old home remedies? Rob
November 5, 200322 yr Go to your wifes' laundry room and steal a handful of Bounce sheets. Use hot water and the Bounce, and the sap will wash right off. Also bugs, road tar and they're great for cleaning plastic headlight covers. As long as you don't let the grit accululate (rinse frequently on a dirty surface) you won't harm the paint or plastic, and the nasties will clean right off. I even do my airplane plexiglass windows with no harm (always back and forth, never in circles). Learned this from an old biker who figgered it out for his show bike, so you KNOW it's gentle. Kinda makes ya want ta rip off your underwear don't it!
November 5, 200322 yr heh goo gone works, is not too harsh.. and you can get it in lemony scent so you car will smell good when you done.. guess that'd be the same as bein bouncey fresh too..
November 5, 200322 yr I wanted to get the glue off my Legacy, but was unsure how without messing up my clear coat...I wil try the bounce w/ hot water...If it works, I will be excited, but as to the excitement level of ripping off my undies...only if there is a female present...and maybe if she were gently straddling the front of my car with her pelvic area.........:-\ I will try the bounce method! Josh!
November 5, 200322 yr There's stuff at the autoparts store called "Bug and Tar". Good stuff, I used to used it to wash off the white roofin truck I drove for a year.
November 5, 200322 yr I saw mechanic take PBBlaster and used it to remove tree sap from his nice white truck... sprayed it on, then wiped it off...
November 5, 200322 yr Will also take smoke smudge off window glass, clean burned pans (soak overnight and the stuff wipes up), makes a good tire dressing (don't rinse off), and, of course ... ...irraddiate your tightywighties.
November 5, 200322 yr Author All great suggestions folks:D I'll have to go out and buy a box of bounce, my wife uses the liquid fab softner:( Rob
