Tires........something new?

Featured Replies

I'm going to run ATV tires on my Sub! (26 X 12 X 12):burnout:

Anyone done this?

Anyone know anyone who can manufacture this rim?

To do this I need to fit a 12" rim on my old Subie.

If necessary I can get the blanks (rims). $23-28 depending on width.

Been quoted $90/rim from Stockton Rim.:banghead:

Wanna do this for less:eek:

To do this I need to fit a 12" rim on my old Subie.

Any Help? Suggestions? Insults?:cornfuzz:

Hey...I don't know how it would work, but a Justy with cut-out wheel wells and big ATV tires would look pretty cool clown.gif

Well - your going to have to do some serious trimming and beating. A 12" wide tire is going to be really tight - especially while turning. Also - regular car rims I don't think would have enough positive offset to get the tires to clear the front struts - maybe, but I think you may have to go with the ATV rims. If you get enough offset, and enough beating / cutting of the wheel wells, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Oh - and can ATV tires do freeway speeds? I don't know if they are rated for that - and are they radials?

will the rim fit over the caliper? it would have a better chance on an ea81 than ea82 for caliper clearance!

Let me clear things up a bit........

This is for The Subuggy EA81 ( I ain't got no wheel wells or fenders to worry about anymore ):D (Hang on ... Parts will be available soon....)

These tires would only be used on slow, off road applications- I'll keep my stock ones for illegal on road adventures.

Stock Justys would be too narrow.

If they bolt I guess I could weld 2 Justy rims together for some real width? Dualles?

Or have 4 Justys widened? Searching for options here........:banghead:

I'm looking for a 12" rim 8" to 10" wide.

I need around a 2.5" offset not mess with the brakes....

No existing ATV rim has the width or offset in that bolt pattern:madder:

ATV's have a 4X140 on the front only and with the wrong offset

I'm thinking custom made$$$$$$$$$$$$$$:banghead::banghead: :banghead:

Help:boohoo:

Glenn,

01 Forester, still is..........:burnout:

Try searching for tractor rims. The front rims on my partents kubota look awefully close to a 4x140 pattern, and I know they make all sorts of crazy tire sizes for tractors. These would also be REALLY heavy-duty rims.

just take the old brat wheels, bolt them on backwards. LOL i have seen it done on other car, and the older brat wheels have a flat surface to bolt them on that way, just looked at a set in my garage.would have plenty of room to do what ever you wanted...

:drunk: i need another one

Two rims welded together might work but the extra weight would suck. And if you're building wheels then how about cutting the Subaru centers out and weld them into ATV rims like they did on the Rhino Buggies. I'd swear I've seen 13" x 12" x 26" tires on some ATV parts website or catalog.

if you want aggressive tires. for the 14" rim they make 26" tall tractor tires!

Searched by application and nothing agressive is manufactured in a 13" tire, no 13" tractor tires.:boohoo:

The biggest ATV tires are only 12" but no ATV rims will fit. No 12" Brat rims:boohoo:

Rhino used "Aggricultural Blanks" not DOT rims. Aggricultural blanks will not hold a tire on as well as a DOT rim. However unless someone comes up with something I may be using them. I'm not keen on cutting centers out and welding in blanks:brolleye: (My welding skills are not the greatest)

Was hoping someone out there would have a shop/business that would able to do it right.........:cornfuzz:

Just found Blanks for $18 in Kansas.

Down to $75/rim now, I have found a second company to build

them.:burnout:

I'd consider a 14" 26" tire however a 12 will give me more width and distance between rock and rim......??? What 14" tire you talking about?:cornfuzz:

14" rims would not be as much of a problem$

Thanks,

Glenn
