November 12, 200322 yr i'm going to flush my radiator/heater core and i am wondering how to pull the core w/minimal headaches. thanks all
November 12, 200322 yr According to yea' old Hyanes manual... it looks like a pain in the rump roast. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV, so my advice to avoid headaches is to drink heavily. T.J.

November 12, 200322 yr If you are going to just flush the heater core couldnt you pull the heater hoses hookup a flush tee to the heater hose cap off the other side of the tee hook up a garden hose and flush. never tried this just a suggestion, but it sounds easier than pullin the core.
November 12, 200322 yr I am currently replacing the heater core in my wife's soon to be Loyale, and I can certainly agree with trooperjeep, heavy drinking is the only way to make this job tolerable. Not only was the cost of the replacement heater core painfull, the entire job sucks! Good thing that I love this car!! Give it your best shot at a flush...
November 12, 200322 yr yes to pull the core by the book is a JOB! what i have done on e81s is to use a dremmel tool and cut it out.its still a lot a of work but better then pulling the whole show out. it slides out like a tape deck and slide the new one back , little silicone. HEAT!! do try flushing first. i've saved a few that way .stay warm todd duh! i was trying to answer the guy with heater core problem. live and learn
November 12, 200322 yr you can't do the cut and paste method with an EA82 car. gotta do it the hard way. try flushing it first and flush the rest of your system too while you're at it.
