New SVX?

Featured Replies

Is this a photoshop, concept, or the real thing? I stumbled across this and was wondering. Anyhoo, I want one. How about you?565959.jpg

I've seen that before too but I think it's a concept. I liked the way the SVX looked except the windows...

What is the deal with the windows? They look horrible and why would you want them to be like that?

It might just be me, but I like the added personallity given to the SVX because the windows are the way they are. But I think it would bug me if I ever drove it.

from what ive heard they where designed that way to keep window noise down when your driving around with the windows down...... just what ive heard, so i could be wrong.....

Some random person just took a B4 Sedan, made it into a coupe, and added those windows. 100% photoshop.

I've heard that, with some varying success, that in an svx you can drive the windows down in a rain storm and not get wet.

Driving an SVX in the rain with windows down is identical to any other car. The water comes in as well as the wind and noise.

The reason for those type (design) windows is to be able to retract them into the door. There is no way that the entire glass surface on an SVX would retract all the way. Just look at one and you will see what I mean.

The windows are like that partially for structural integrity.. (it has a whole door frame, instead of just a half frame like most Subarus.) And also for aerodynamics. With the windows down the air passes by the window more than it comes in the windows... so the wind you get is from air being sucked out of the car instead of pushed in. I have driven in the rain with my windows down on my SVX and not gotten wet... as well as times I have gotten wet.. it just depends on what kind of rain it is!

Whenever you see windows like that they are structural. Remeber the SVX was a experiment in saftey aslo. This wondow made for a much more stronger door in an accident, and no passenger ejection.

I might be willing to buy a 2 door Legacy GT if it looked like that.

Forget the windows. I like the lack of a frame. It makes it alot easier to get in and out.

thats the first ive seen it. id be willing to say its a very very good chop job. it looks cool, but its doesnt set itself apart from the styling of the legacy to make it a legit concept car. lets just say i hope i eat my words. :)

i love the shape of that car! :-p

Hmm...must be cool to know everything...
why would you want them to be like that?
Because you never want to go through a drive-through...
