November 18, 200322 yr Ok anyone got a EJ22TT motor , tranny perfer 5 speed, just no sense in building an auto, the wiring and computer ? I just got word on where i can get antoehr brat, and i am up for another project, as Chris is going to finnish up the other now. i would perfer to get the whole car, wrecked, but with a good motor, and tranny, and computer and wiring. let me know guys, i know someone is holding back and sitting on one while at their computer !!!
November 18, 200322 yr No EJ22TT in the US EJ22T is hard to find.. only came in 90-94 legacy turbo and there aren't very many of those.. especially in a 5 speed. Plus you would probably get lynched if you destroyed a good one(especially a 5 speed) EJ20T is a better bet, but be prepared to pay for it..the WRX has only been in the US a few years
November 18, 200322 yr i don't think that there are many that would be hanging out in old gen if they own cars like that.
November 18, 200322 yr Good point. also, try the legacy central board that will probably be your best bet for an EJ22T
November 18, 200322 yr Author yeah i think i would probably get lynched by my family jewles, but yeah i will fine a ej20t for it then. what yeads and cars did they come in ?
November 18, 200322 yr I little nit pick here, the engine is an EJ20G for the single turbo, not a 'T', also, to the best of my knowledge, they never made an EJ22TT, it was an EJ20TT. I had one, but sold it almost two years ago. There are EJ22Ts available in the US. I happen to have a front clip to a 94 WRX STi sitting at my place, I'm asking $2500, but would sell it for $2000 to a board member. It is the engine, tranny, and complete front wiring harness, as well as the front suspension. I bought it for another project that didn't happen.
November 18, 200322 yr Corky, is yours the EJ22T? What's the difference between the EJ20G and the EJ22T besides the displacement? Which engine did the USDM Legacy's come with?
November 18, 200322 yr Author well i will keep looking for the twin turbo one that is really what i would like to do. not that 2000 is a bad price, cause that is a great price indeed. thanks for the input and correction on the motor, i stand corrected. was late lastnight when i posted and wasnt thinking clearly
November 18, 200322 yr XSNRG, all Japanese WRXs are EJ20's, the 22B is not considered a WRX, it is a separate Impreza model. The US Turbo Legacys are EJ22Ts. 78TurboBrat, good luck on getting everything in one place, I have seen a TT on eBay from time to time, but haven't for awhile.
November 19, 200322 yr Call junk yard, if they are on a salvage network, they should be able to find one for ya.....you'll pay out the arse though. Cheapest I could find was $1000.00 w/ 71,000 miles. I'm going to wait to see if I can luck out & stumble across one...I'm in no hurry. Mine needs rebuilt, but I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet.
November 19, 200322 yr 78Turbo, why do you want the twin turbo? What is it about it that make you what it more then any other engine. No I'm not trying to get you to buy mine, I'm just curious. I was planning to put the twin turbo that I had into an 80 Hatchback. The problem with these engines is the driver side (left) turbo. On newer cars, there is a brake booster that interfers with the left turbo, so you need to find an earlier car without the booster. Although you'll wish you had a booster when you go to brake with all the extra weight up front. I would still check eBay from time to time, that is where I have seen an engine being auctioned off several times by a place in Colorado (at least I think it is Colorado), I don't think in the last 3 times that I have seen it that anyone put a bid in on it.

November 19, 200322 yr Author dont know i would just like to build the brat with eh best motor they have , if it means having to use another type of frame then so be it, so i am just trying to have some fun but also bring another one back to life instead of sitting out in a barn. i have found three more brats and hope to get them all, tow of them are gen 1's and the 3rd is a gen 2. will probably let the gen 2 go though, as it is wrecked pretty bad, and no motor ar tranny or title. and misssing alot of glass due to the neighborhood kids playing with rocks around it. thinking they were going to be cool, damn where was someone with a bb gun when needed to save the poor car? /??
November 19, 200322 yr Flow, I've got a special price for you. Special Flowmaster price is $3495.99, that does not include shipping charges. I'll make the same offer to HondaSucks if you won't take it.  JK, nope I want CASH!!!!!!!!!
