here's some update on my progress...I pulled the 4EAT out and dissasembled the f. diff and replaced the pinion gear/bearing (wasted).

Also the ring gear...I didn't like the pitting I found on the spider gears so I'm replacing those too.

 

I went down to Rallitek's new shop(nice facility) and met Marc....kewl guy. Picked up a trans mount bushing insert. for $29.00 ...might as well upgrade while it's out.:banana:

I need to repl. the VSS #2 nylon drive gear in

my 97 OB 4EAT

Yeppers! I'm back on the road....Wahoo! :banana::headbang:

she drives like new...:burnout:

 

I did a complete rebuild of the front differential and dialed it in. I could only work on it after work for a few hours here and there. It was actually a fairly easy job...just time consuming...(getting parts....I purchased the only carrier(spider) gears in town....no one had them...).

 

I'll post more pics of the teardown and aftermath.....
