June 27, 200718 yr thinking of ordering one, has anyone got one through CCR before? If so what were the prices like(they haven't emailed me back in 2 days .)
June 27, 200718 yr I've bought three motors from them, I had problems with one but they took care of it in a big way. Emily and Rick are great people to deal with, give Emily some time and she will get back to you. I won't coment on price, each one is different but remember, you get what you pay for. Later, Tim
June 27, 200718 yr CCR has a great reputation...even though I havent bought one YET from them ..I have been thinking about it for Bucky ( if we can save him) I wouldnt buy from anyone else thats for sure
June 27, 200718 yr Cant go wrong with CCR. I just recieved and installed a EA82T from them and Emily was great to deal with. And the engine is running great. You get what you pay for.
June 27, 200718 yr CCR great to deal with. We bought an engine for my son's '82 Brat over 6 or 7 years ago (hard to remember when). Engine still running fine even if the Brat isn't. Minor problem with the oil sending unit; we got an engine with a sender for an oil guage (GL) and needed one with a pressure switch (DL). Our error since we didn't know the difference at the time and hadn't mentioned it when we ordered the engine. We called and the problem was promptly identified and resolved over the 'phone with no charge to us.
June 27, 200718 yr Author Thanks for all the great feedback on this company. I believe a freshly rebuilt motor is in order, because this one is SHOT!
June 27, 200718 yr Ouch that motor of yours looks like it has seen better days! That timing gear looks like someone beat it with a big hammer a few times! CCR is great!
June 27, 200718 yr Author if the cam gear looks this bad, the crank gear can't look any better. I can't find parts for these motors anywhere either.
June 28, 200718 yr I seem to recall a notice from CCR (Emily) that they may be no longer selling the EA81s since they can no longer get parts for them anymore. You may be able to have them rebuild yours though.
June 28, 200718 yr I seem to recall a notice from CCR (Emily) that they may be no longer selling the EA81s since they can no longer get parts for them anymore. You may be able to have them rebuild yours though. that was EA71, the 1.6L..
June 28, 200718 yr thinking of ordering one, has anyone got one through CCR before? If so what were the prices like(they haven't emailed me back in 2 days .) Just call. Lots easier than emailing for a quote, you get an exact one that way. Shipping, gasket kit, engine price, etc.
June 28, 200718 yr Like I said, you get what you pay for. The engine will outlive your current car and probably cost more than what you paid for the car. But I would imagine that the engine by itself would have a excellent resale value on its own.
June 28, 200718 yr You have three options but can only use two of them........ FAST GOOD CHEAP Pick two but remember you won't get the third
