Canvas top?

Featured Replies

Anyone ever cut the back half of a loyale off and install a roll bar and canvas top like broncos and 4 runners?

i dont' know about the canvas top but i can think of atleast two cars that have been made into "new brats", that way, it kinda comprimises the structural integrety unless you put in a nice roll bar, but it doesn't look half bad

yeah i can agree! It would look cool! A nice roll bar with some offroad lights on top! The canvas don't sound too bad either.

The only part that suck's is winter and rain. But i can deal with rain. Just not cold snow!

Come november the car will be just a toy anyway.

In that case, go for it!

But just like the guys above me, a rollcage is very highly recommended if not necessary. Removing the roof and windows on a unibody car won't benefit structural integrity

yeah so she probely won't hold together. I wonder if a Brat roll bar would work?

But yeah go for it!:)

PS. This thread brought to you through the power of search:headbang:

We *do* kinda need to throw this around a bit more.. not to needle the OP in this particular thread, im just sayin...

It was a few years back, but I remember seeing an EA82 3-door that had the rear hatch removed and a canvas "cover" in it's place. It looked like a good custom job (from the pix), IIRC it had a plastic window similar to some covertibles.

I'll see if I can find the pictures.

(PNW old-timers, I think this was "Ross In Idaho"'s car, maybe you have better recollection than I   )

Yeah see a canvas top with a roll bar is a good idea. It turns heads.:)

You've got to see about those pic bro. I mea a 3dr Loyale with a canvas hatch sounds cool! Oh! And are you sure it was a Loyale? Maybe a RX coupe!?:-\ :slobber:

please try again ;)

he says a 3-door with canvas top, so that's a coupe, not a loyale.

here ya go.... not exactly what you wanted, but close, right?
