94 Legacy 5MT wont start after engine bath?

Featured Replies

Ive cleaned many a engines before but this time the car wouldnt start after a degrease and then wash of the engine bay.

Usually I would suspect a wet distributor but we dont have these on our Subies.

Car turns over just fine , just wont catch.

Any suggestions?

Make sure your big vacum line that is in the middle of the air tubing is still connected, it is the one that is around 3/4 in. dia. Other then that leave hood open and let dry.

If 110v outlet is near by, suggest using a couple of portable hair dryers on the motor to dry up any moisture. I have done that before, and it helps.

Im now leaning towards a wet ICM as my culprit as its the ONLY thing that would really prevent the start of the engine.

You are probably not getting fire, but I would check and see if fuel is getting to the engine also. You may have water down in the spark plug holes, I would check. Did you check that big vacum hose? It has gotten more then one of us.
