a rant about a guy named shane

Featured Replies

there is a guy named shane, i cant remember is tag on this board, but i bought a car from him recently,

he is located in south carolina, was in north carolina,

he sold me a mail car, it was supposed to be in good shape

for 2grand it should have been perfect but it wasnt

it was a piece of chit, bent rad support

damage to both rocker panels

absalutly no usable drivetrain parts(was supposed to have good trans)NOT

and the inside was trashed, he told me that it had a nice body and a good trans

the only good thing about it was nOTHING

scratches and rust on all the exterior panels

fenders and front end bent up

i know i should have looked closer

but it was night time in NC at some random meeting place

and after i got the car home and noticed all the issues

all he could say for himself is "where is the rest of my money"

i had shorted him 140 at the meet

so after all my complaints

he still just harps about his 140

so i paid it becouse i am honest like that

he on the other hand is a complete JACKAZZ

to all that might deal with this jerkoff

be warned

That sucks. Did you atleast test drive the car first? Does it drive

dude you bought a used car at night and your calling him a jackazz. If i was spending 2 grand no take that back If i was spending more than 200 on a used car I would go over it with a fine tooth comb at high noon! Oh well you just got 2000 dollars worth of the best education possible:dead:

that sounds like a stank deal, but this is the wrong forum and way to go about it. it's hard to believe you can't figure out his user name and search for some information.

for 2grand it should have been perfect but it wasnt
a RHD legacy in perfect condition for $2,000 - i think that's a bit of an exaggeration. they are rather hard to find and not cheap from what i've seen. (note - i didn't say you can't find them cheap or good deals). not too mention postal vehicles go through hell, it is certainly a huge responsibility on the buyer to look it over or make decisions accordingly on vehicles that are used for other-than-daily-driver activities.
it should have been perfect but it wasnt
i based on your description i think a blind folded blind man at night in a hurricane could have ascertained that it wasn't perfect:
damage to both rocker panels
and the inside was trashed,
the only good thing about it was nOTHING
scratches and rust on all the exterior panels
fenders and front end bent up

I have bought a few "postal vehicles" in my time (but not a Subaru) and they were all "high mile", "clapped out" projects when I got them. I accepted that, as I wanted the type of vehicle it was, and paid accordingly.

Hey ya know... You bought a used car for 2 grand, thats alot of money to most people. But it is certainly not 20 grand, right? For 20 grand it had better be perfect, not for 2 grand. But you bought it, paid most of the money (he was even nice enough to spot you on some of it...$140= an ounce?)and took it away. Now you are complaining and talking trash about this guy? Thats really not cool cuz it sounds to me like you (or you wife?) are unhappy w/ your purchase. What do you want to happen?

Basically, you bought a used car. End of story. :Flame:

But, I know I would never buy a car from this shane guy based on the description. anyone who lies about the condition of the car they're selling should never get a sale again.

Morals people, morals.

My SVX is the first car I've bought online. Fortunately I bought it from someone I've known, online, for 3 years. Buying a car through the interwebs entails some risks. I was sure the car I was buying was "as advertised". I bought it without a test drive, and wasn't disappointed. (yeah, stupid I know)

From someone who's selling history I don't know... I'd be all over the car before purchasing it. If ANYTHING didn't meet my expectations, no way my money leaves my hands.

Buying online is the ULTIMATE expression of Caveat Emptor.

But, I know I would never buy a car from this shane guy based on the description.
there are always two sides to the story. he's sold a number of things on this board. unfortunately there's no record on the details of this transaction. scrapdaddy posted a "wanted" add and gotsubarus just replied that he had one, that's it. no description. that being said, the thread was easy to find and you can post on his itrader account.

lol, how didn't you notice all this body damage later?? Even if it was night. I am lost with this story.:-\ Do you buy cars with your eyes shut?

let me clear some things up

1. i have dealt with shane before, he was honest before

2. i only want a good body, i did not care about the rest

3. 2 grand is reasonable for a decent RHD body in perfect condition

4. he told me on several occasions that the body was straight-

dirty, well worn but straight with no damage

he said the inside was dirty

he said the transmision- a bonus really- was good

5. i did look at the car at pickup

and pointed out the hood being up

he siad it was just a liitle push

it was dark---and very cold

and i could not see chit

6. on the way home the front hubs broke apart and

just about lost the car off the dolly

7. HE NEVER SAID SORRY

ALL HE WANTED WAS HIS GOD DAMN MONEY

im a reasonable person

if he had at least apologized

said dont worry about the 140

i would have been happy

but all he can do is call wanting his money

i will never buy from him again

even though i need another rhd and he has one

in fact from now on im buying them at auction

i can get them for 1500 or less and drive them home

i ripped of once but never again

Are you a rural mail carrier? If you want to buy a nice low mileage R.H.D. jeep try usdriveright, even if you are not a carrier you can still buy from there.

that sounds like a poor deal. i posted his username above - gotsubaru or whatever it was, your thread was easy enough to find with a search so you can give him itrader feedback. looks like he does a fair amount of trading here.
