I drove over the bridge where that happened a few days ago. Granted, that movie has been reposted like a 1000 times.

Most of the damage is on the passenger side because he wasn't directly behind the truck in front of him. He was slightly to the left as if he was looking past the truck. Camera angles go for the most dramatic shot.

 

I like the wheels!!
