Stupid Odometer Tricks

Featured Replies

Dropped off the baby sitter Saturday night and noticed the mileage on my '97 OB was 123,455. Drove an extra block or two to get

123456.

I approached this mileage cautiously, since I was sure that the [original] head gaskets on this 2.5l engine were going to jump out from under the hood!

One, two, threeeeek!

My gaskets have sprung a leek.

Four, five, six

I guess l'll have a fix.

Merry Christmas! And please pardon me...

When my Subaru hit 200,000 miles I took a picture of it with my camera on my cell phone...i'll post the picture some day when I find it.

I just hit 100,000 a couple weeks ago. Woohoo!

When I get to 111,000 I'm gonna reset my trip odometer so I can get a picture with 111,111 on the regular odo and 111.1 on the trip odo. :D

To whom it may concern: I was right: we are just a little nuts about our Subarus! OK, REAL nuts!

Nuts is right, LOL.

I snapped a pic of my odo a few years ago when 222,222.2 appeared:-).

My 82 just rolled over a 100k too!:D

Glenn,

82 Hatch, well it use to be a hatch.....

01 Forester, .............36K and climbing.

Here it is. Next 234,567

I called my garage today and told him that all people talk about on this board was the detonation of head gaskets on 2.5l Subaru engines, and would he run the tests on it at the next oil change (I had an oil analysis done at 65K).

He said, "We'll do them if you tell us to - but we don't see it happening...."
