EA82+weber+power steering?

Featured Replies

I almost had my weber installed and the electric choke hits the back of the power steering, anyone have this problem before?

Joe

Most people with PS turn the weber around 180 degrees to clear the pump; needs more finagling with the throttle linkage but it can be done.

or you could leave it turned the right way rather than backwards, and convert to manual choke.

i have an idea for that based on swapping to the XT4's power steering setup.. it holds the reservoir in a more lower and forward location, and if i've heard right before, the tank is the exact part that the choke hits, right?

I happen to have the lines and pump/reservoir and bracket from an XT4. Anyone who likes can have them for shipping cost if they'd like to try it.

baccaruda- where is spovegas,wa?

I am thinking of ditching the power steering and AC, I do not need either one and I have found a donor vehicle for the manual steering, and alt.brackets for a non a/c, p/s car, I would save a tiny bit of weight and HP, not much though plus it would be easier to work on the engine.

um, a forum search would bring up alot on this topic of already covered material.

I did a little clean up work in the engine compartment and got everything working nice, thanks for the input.

of course instead of getting a 32/36 DGEV you could always grab a 32/36 DFEV. (has the choke on the opposite side.)

If anyone is interested, I have a DFAV. (reverse side choke, water assisted choke. more reliable than electric choke, some have mentioned. is correctly jetted for our little subes.)

email or whatever if anyone is interested.
