I'm having an issue with my insurance company since I really want it insured for full value whenever someone test drives it. Only way they will change that value is with a professional appraisal. Anyone know of a company (preferably Subaru savvy) that does that in Western Washington? What does one pay for an appraisal of this sorts? Reveeen Posted June 5, 2008 Share Posted June 5, 2008 In these parts ANY car dealer (new, or used) is able to issue an appraisal for tax/insurance purposes. Cost can run from $25-$100, accuracy optional (real value is usually 1/2 appraisal value). You are a braver soul than I, I don't do test drives, you want a test drive, go for a rent-a-racer. I wouldn't consider buying a used vehicle that I hadn't driven. A test drive with the seller in the seat is expected and unless it's a real beater, I wouldn't ask for anything other than that.
