Appraisal for Gen2 Brat

Recommended Posts

As a few of you know I have my "nice" (as opposed to working) Brat up for sale. I'm having an issue with my insurance company since I really want it insured for full value whenever someone test drives it. Only way they will change that value is with a professional appraisal. Anyone know of a company (preferably Subaru savvy) that does that in Western Washington? What does one pay for an appraisal of this sorts?

In these parts ANY car dealer (new, or used) is able to issue an appraisal for tax/insurance purposes. Cost can run from $25-$100, accuracy optional (real value is usually 1/2 appraisal value).

You are a braver soul than I, I don't do test drives, you want a test drive, go for a rent-a-racer.

You sell many vehicles privately ?

I'd have to be further out than Pluto to consider buying a car that I hadn't at least driven down the street without the tranny dropping out

A "test drive" with the potential buyer in the passenger's seat works. If they're serious about buying a nice Brat, they should understand.

I wouldn't consider buying a used vehicle that I hadn't driven. A test drive with the seller in the seat is expected and unless it's a real beater, I wouldn't ask for anything other than that. I understand that they are selling something of value to them so if they want to keep an eye on me while I test drive it then that's no problem at all
