Featured Replies

Sup,

Need help, want to change my 91 Leone's Ea82 Engine to an Ej Single turbo or twin turbo Engine.

I know the single turbo engine can go in, but will the twin turbo go in.

Check the twin turbo pic plz.

Thanks

more than likely No it wont fit. it wont fit in a EJ series car because of hte steering rack. since it was designed for a rhd car, and not a lhd. so im sure it would be the same in your case.

There's no difference in the *engine*. No the exhaust won't fit but who cares? Run a (very) large single turbo using US market exhaust peices. The twin turbo block is a fine peice of machinery.

is the twin turbo block different than the single turbo block?

what's the differences pros/cons of these JDM verses the EJ22T? no replacement for displacement?

Mostly the heads. They are DOHC, larger valves, ect. They also have stronger pistons. Burly engines. The 22T has more potential in raw displacement of course, but requires more work to get there. For $2500 you can get the 20TT's and be running 275 to 300 HP without touching the long block. Both are closed deck (the early to mid 90's stuff anyway) so both are very strong.

To make massive power, the 22T's need to be swapped over to different heads and pistons and ideally the piston skirt spray nozzles need to be removed (they have a tendancy to fall out and are entirely uneccesary). So to do them right you have to completely dissasemble them.

So there's a lot of good reasons to prefer the EJ20TT's if you want a drop-in as they are cheap and have a lot of ponies.

which side of the car is the steering wheel on in nairobi

of course....even then, I believe the tts use a different engine crossmember. and the EJ crossmember will not easily fit in an EA.

short answer. yes. it can be done. but you'll be looking at extra $$$ and fabrication.

Yes it can. I have one in my 86 gl. It took a lot of fabrication. It was a major pain in the arse.
