oil catch can question

Featured Replies

found 1 that hooks before the pvc , like 24 bucks total, my question do they really work good as the add says, mpg, hp, etc....., how about magnetic oil plugs ? , found something else better air flow in the intake tube ??

An oil catch can is something new to me. What is it? How does it work?

Magnetic oil plugs have been around for years. I have always thought that the oil filter was meant to trap any metal particles. Changing the oil and filter on a regular basis should be all that is needed.

oil catch can is put inline between the valve covers to the intake, what it does is catch the oil vapor that runs in the lines and lets it condense in the can instead of running through the engine.

i run one on every car i drive hard, so thats every car i own.

put one on your car and look for your self.

it depends on your driving habits, and the condition of the engine.

forgot , 168,000mi on it, , ok should be here by friday, not sure of the history of the car, but i have taken very care of it since i bought it , 11,0000mi ago , thinking about getting another one for my 97 legacy L wagon , 169,000 mi on that one, i do not drive it hard or off road with either one, thanks

how about magnetic oil plugs ?

I bought a brick-type magnet at Sears, and I strap this on to the outside of the oil-filter canister with a large hose-clamp.

Does it work? I don't know, but my assumption is that it does no harm.

I love them...i have one on my WRX..its the recirc. type...so no emptying it....hasnt given me a problem yet....plus it dresses up the engine bay kind of nice...:)

Its like chicken soup, they dont hurt.
