Well after digging through over a year of my facebook I found the link

Here are some pics (it's not a us spec car as it's right hand drive) and it's an older impreza than I thought too, appears to be a first gen pre 97 i'm going to say, as it doesn't have the compartment on top of the dash, and the car is an ea81 coupe (1985)

And here is the amazing car :slobber:

Thanks Turbone for finding the thread.

He wrote, "* The dash pad has had alot of mods to length and width and sides. Near on 6 months work in the dash. Alot of trial fits, trimming and more trial fits. The sides had to be built as well as the top corners of the pad assembly."

Makes the car IMO. I am impressed with the paint for a DIY.

Looks close to the same color as your wagon 1982gl4.

My roomate and I found all of this guy's threads and videos and actually linked Rob to them:grin:

He also has a blue EA81 coupe with an EJ20 N/A engine, plus the EJ20G in his red coupe:banana:

You could have just added the link here, instead of sending it me

He also has a build thread on Ausubaru.com

hmm i wonder how well it might fit into an ea82.

I've often wondered the same thing... But I can't seem to get my subi to sit still enough to strip it out and find out - only because I'm enjoying what I'm doing with her now :D

Something for the future maybe. My biggest question is how he fitted up the heaters etc. I'm pretty sure from memory that he cut out the firewall to fit the matching heater box from the dash to make it work easier... I'm pretty sure it was him anyway.

That car is awesome (the red coupe) and I drooled over it for a long time watching the build.

Cheers

Bennie
