Carter Subaru Tried To Kill Me!!!!

Recommended Posts

Dang, spit, and dirty socks! Had new plugs and wires put into Twobaru (we'll discuss 96-97 Legacies and dual vs single exhaust port problems later) on Monday. Last night I saw something glinting through the edge of my hood. Popped it open, and whaddaya know!!!! OLD SPARK PLUGS ROLLING AROUND UNDER MY HOOD!!!!

AND I COULD ONLY FIND TWO OF THEM!

Ahh, the physics of loose objects and car engines...

old spark plug falls into fan: zing! Crash! Dead Twobaru, dead Kaja.

old spark plug gets into a belt: zing! Crash! Dead Twobaru, dead Kaja.

I'm calling Carter's manager tomorrow (he's a M-F kind of guy) to have a friendly discussion about how mechanics need to be given enough time per repair to do a good job, check their own work, and clean up after themselves. I will also discuss with him the reason I will not be bringing Twobaru in on Tuesday to have her new axle put in, and why I am going to Skagit to buy my new wagon.

(The nice indie mechanic who will be replacing the axle said he could look around in the car guts for the two missing old spark plugs.)

Actually, I don't have any problems with the mechanic I use. . .I have known him all my life, and he is as careful with my car as I would be. Oh, wait, he IS me. . . .

:brow:

Hahah....I wish i knew enough to be my own mechanic. I guess I will have to just get in there and learn the hard way. I used to hangh out at a mechanics shop once a week, but he moved far away. :(

You know, you only live about 50 or 60 miles from me. . .

PM me if you would like to meet. . .

A while back my dad took his new Vette to a sears to have the oil changed. They took the old oil out and failed to put new oil in....one LT1 fried and bought by sears.

If you don't trust anyone then do it yourself.

Slightly off-topic, but why on earth would someone let Sears work on their Vette?

The only problem I've ever had with Carter was trying to get them to fix my WRX in a timely manner. It needed to have the alternator replaced with less then 3k on the car. It took almost a week to get the car back. :-\

If you want something done properly....do-it-yourself :-)

An old adage maybe, but still true!

A couple of years ago. My wife went to a tire store and had new tires put on the Subaru before heading off on vacation the next day. Got out of the 45 MPH area on our way to vacation and the car was all over the road. 45 PSI in all 4 tires! Delayed us a couple of hours trying to figure it out. I pulled off the road and pulled all the wheelcovers as I thought a wheel was coming off...........
