axle nut?

Recommended Posts

There is a special tool made for VW rear axle nuts that also fit our Sube's. It's a 1/2" thick flat peice of cast steel with a hole for a breaker bar and two flat spots on either side to hit with a hammer while applying pressure with the breaker bar. Check local VW/foreign (german) parts stores. Most will carry it by EMPI or possibly Dee Engineered Parts. Also available through Rocky Mountain Motorworks on-line or http://www.cip1.com I think. Used mine for all my axles when I did my 6 lug/ disc brake conversion. Good luck,

heating the nut with a propane torch will help. heat it up till it starts to glow. pour water in the aaxle stub itself, that way it will help shrink it compared to the expansionof the nut itself.

but i recommend this as one of a last effort, if nothing seems to work
