  1. OK! I replaced the fuel pressure regulator. I have a spare SPFI manifold I traded for the carburetor one I had on my 86 GL. Took the regulator off that spare one, which looks like it wasn't very old / low miles /indoors most of it's life. Car fired right up. Pressure nice and steady, at 24PSI - which is a little high. Drive to the bottom of my safest "test" hill. Checked the vacuum line to the bottom of the pressure regulator, oops, I left it off. Connected. Pressure more normal 22PSI. Still nice and steady. Drive up the hill, NO PROBLEM! Loop around for another test, and no problem. Took a run up the steeper bigger higher speed hill nearby, and no problem. Pressure now at 20PSI, but it is running fine as it always has.
  2. Yes, thank you. All of these suggestions are really helpful.
  3. All of the turbo seals appear to be copper washers. I didn't see anything rubber on the unt It except for the bottom hose, which its definitely not from there.
  4. Oops, yes, it's a 2010 Outback. Yes, that o-ring and clamps. The clamps looked a little odd so I thought I'd ask about opening them before I get out there and have to figure it out. So squeezing the two tabs opens them enough to fit on? It seemed like it was probably that simple but I wanted to double check. Ah, yes. Thanks for the suggestion. I probably wouldn't have thought of that but I expect there to be some spillage. I'm hoping to siphon out the reservoir to minimise the mess since I'm taking the hose off but in reality it probably won't be as clean as I hope. I'll also toss some pig pads underneath. Hopefully this takes care of the whine.
  5. maybe swap the a/c relay with another?
