  2. If you have nothing connected to the only "plug" on the starter, that's your problem. That is the solenoid wire activated by the ignition. It needs to be plugged into the spade connector from the car's harness or nothing will happen when you turn the key. GD

  3. Great job - put it on bittorrent when you find a place to host it. That way it will be out there and once the hosting goes away it will still make the rounds. GD

  4. So far so good! We pulled the old radiator out on Sunday. Was a lot dirtier than I thought. Also power washed the front of the engine and the engine bay in front of the engine and plastic cover, and also the condensor. Put it all back and purged it and took it for a run. It ran noticeably cooler. This morning coming in which is a 25 mile trip, It only went over 200 a couple of times but the fans would turn on, and it would go back down to 188-194 ish. Definitely seems like it helps a lot. Will see going home this afternoon when it's warmer.

  6. Did you completely drain the old fuel? I once dealt with 20-year old gasoline and it is nasty stuff. Just mentioning this because the pick-up in the tank could be clogged.

  7. You have to check power to the pump while cranking. It will only apply power for about 1.5 seconds when you turn on the key. After that it only powers the pump while cranking or running (tach signal present). After sitting for 20 years - very high probability you will need new injectors, fuel pressure regulator, and I would be surprised if it didn't need a new tank. GD

  8. I do believe this OP's car is still an EJ 2.5 (EJ253) First year FB25 in the Forester is 2011. So, no need to split the case to replace rings. Simply pull the heads and pull the wrist pins and pistons come right out.

  9. I’ll see what I can do. I got up to chapter 11 (transmission stuff) and then copied I think 18 which is the transmission linkage. Its on my phone right now. This week I got a dead friend, a dying German Shepherd , and I think I’m getting in a divorce. May take a few days to figure it all out.
