  1. So after some phone calls to Subaru USA, a very helpful guy there dusted off the shelves and sent me pictures of the transmission diagrams and part lists. From that I was able to source the last Brat transmission rebuild kit in the country!

  2. Do a search for starter relay mod. I did it to my Brat and never had another problem. It's been ten years.

  3. 3500 RPMs is just getting to the powerband. And it's fine to cruise at those RPMS If you need more power up the hills, use lower gears and let the engine rev out at a light throttle, rather than using a higher gear and having to struggle even with throttle wide open. It can take 4500 all day.

  5. My guess (not that I know much about this stuff) is that IF the rubber block is facing down, then there is a chance of it falling out when it (if ever) gets worn out. I'd bolt it rubber side up

  6. Thanks you guys. Best way for me was to slice through strut bracket and bend the new "tabs" in opposite directions till brake line can pass through. And no critical loss of structural integrity. No need to disconnect brake line. All you guys are the best. thanks

  7. The WIX filters are the only one's I'm aware of that have the 23.5 psi bypass valve and have the valve up-front before the filter element. They are a significantly better design as when they go into bypass (one every cold start for example, when Subaru oil pressure is 90+ psi) the oil does not first pass over the dirty element and wash contaminants back into the engine.
