My gaskets are here.....need to get the block from KBD and give it a little cleaning up...and maybe some paint She should be on target for running at the meet!

cool, so I will check the heads I know of tomarow. I should be looking for hairline cracks around the exhaust valve seat on the head from what im reading? not just a split between the intake/ exhaust valve? Dont worry, I already ordered all my gaskets and they are SUBARU, so I wont have to worry about them. Already read up on that one.

Just did a search on the board, but didnt find anything. Im trying to figure out how to ID 3rd gen turbo heads,as I have heard these are the best heads to have, because they dont crack as easy. I know of a couple of 89's in a few yards, so I figure they would be a good place to start looking. I just wana make sure I ID them right first...

Looks like a good excuse to order my gaskets so I can be subie rolling again! I'll try not to run 25psi on the way down there and distroy my turbo again...hehe

You never rode in my wagon when I was running 25psi? It was violent when It would detonate... Next time your up here I'll have to go for a ride...I guess I've never heard your car do this noise your describing. I have not been in it sence you were running MS and all it would do is put out rich black plumes of smoke... When I followed you guys home, I didn't think your car was making any funny coolant smells or anything of that nature it smelled fine to me. We'll get her figured out.....Dont give up on that girl! Im gona order my gaskets wed some time...so hopefully, I should have them next week and we can slap my engine together...maybe we should plan a subaru wrenching day at phils in the near future.

Alternator went up...no idea what happened...was looking at a vacume leak, and the alternator started shooting flames..All while the neighbor across the street yells at me, and says, that doesn't look good as im trying to put it out...GRRR Got a new alt in her already and she runs again...valve cover gaskets need replacing BAD though... its leaking oil so bad into the spark plug holes, it keeps missfiring.

No...I will not! My taurus however, will! It caught on fire today :-\ Stupid fords....

If you could just give me a ball park idea of where it is...that would help me out a lot....Oh...Should I have grabed the A/C compressor bracket as well? I want to retail A/C if at all possible... Alright...spyder is sitting in my garage now....it is an NA one. Oh well...can anyone tell me where the turbo water passage sould be on it? Wana get this onto a motor soon...Got three intake manifolds on the garage floor right now(SHO, 16V Veedub, and the spyder) need to at least get one onto a car...sheesh!

Your sure welcome! Was worth the drive! On the way back Rick and I hit loveland auto salvage, scored me a spyder. I turned around and there was the 16v vee dub i've been dying to find! got some of what I needed off of it, but didnt have the allen wrench I needed so.... needless to say...I think im comming down with the flu and am going to be sick tomarow . Think we were lucky...Timing belt on the civic is making noise now...uh...maybe after 283k its time to replace it? Glad we could help! Thanks for the hat and mug too BTW!
