  1. sure you people arent listining to bad rap music? when i do the same sound your talking about happens
  2. It would be cheaper but not as much fun to just get one from the aussies sent over Mayby we ought to go scout it out and do a group buy anybody interested? Import auto anyone? Ive been shoping for the d/r drive train for the 92 brownie with some sucsess I feel that right now the way shes driving i dont want to mod her but get another rig to have fun with I apreciate all the input this is a great board Like gnuman said she holds the road so good. Kicking myself hard for selling the 90 right now.
  3. bubble needed bursting anyway i thought that was the case will a dual range have two shift levers? thanks for the info
  4. that would be plenty of lift for me I think im up in the night about the d/r tranny Its just the push button 4wd type still getting the car just for kicks
  5. hey there just purchaced what im hoping will be the donor for my d/r trannie transplant into 92 leg wag donor was 85 turbo wag I see theyre are adapter plates available from several vendors Unless I have totally misread things,, this seams to be a fairly simple conversion. A lift kit would be good to do at this time also but I still havent come up a solid plan . yes the AA lift would provide the lift to go big meat tires but I am thinking a little lower mayby a 3 inch or so would be adequate. After all this will still be a daily driver car not to split threads or toot my horn too loud but the parts car I bought is just that and there is a 90 turbo wag in the marketplace section that I am trying to sell for the guy I bought my 85 turbo wag from and by the way if this works out I will have whats left of the 85 up for grabs if anyone wants partz after I take the tranny and rear. Ok to finally get to my question's and sorry for writing such a manefesto before asking Any advice tips or tricks on my 85 d/r into 92 leg wag project? will welcome any information besides go screw yourself johnny that I can get. Thank you
  6. got one a month or so ago for my 92 legacy wagon and its running great just wish there was a way to track where its really from by the serial number stamped on it.
  7. ive got a similar problem i wrote subaru and they said they replied, Unfortunately, we do not have any method of entering an engine serial number to cross reference it with the vehicle it was originally equipped in. thought that was rather strange why would they go thru the trouble of stamping a serial number on it if they werent going to use it? Im hoping somebody comes up with an answer
  8. what dual range trannys will bolt up with the ej22 without major mods?
  9. saw that transplant the guy did with the porche and it got me fantasizing thought I remembered the later triumphs having struts

  13. chilly can the number off a block turn up anything on carfax? recently had a used engine put in and they told me it was an import from japan they botched the install and im really curious where the block came from guess i dont trust theyre story or them for that matter not that it would do any good at this point just curious if carfax has that kind of info. thanks
  14. had it happen on 91 legacy before i noticed it was too late to save used jb weld and got many miles out of it but finally last week had to put in another engine cause i couldnt repeat the jb trick checking that pully nut is now going to be a regular on my maintenance list
  15. thats a great idea there is so much info on this site that could be organised like that would keep from ansering the same questions a million times. Im suprised i got so many miles out of the last 2 legacys ive had after seeing all the things I didnt do right.
  16. they have tested it and say it doesnt leak not sure which method they used but nobodys been able to cure it this time they said it was coroded connections its weird sometimes since this last charge it blows nice and cold then fades out. then the next day its back I havent noticed anything around the pump May tear into the dash this weekend to cure some bad connections in the stereo. wonder what all the cliking going on under the dash is? the expansion valve? hmmm thanks for the good clues now that winters here i better get it fixed have been without it so long it was a real luxury ride to have it even for a short while
  17. sounds good is the spedometer effected? are there any easy ways to correct it?
  18. Ive had problems keeping the AC on my 91 legacy wagon going for many years It hasnt worked right as long as ive had the car recently I got it hooked back up and freshly charged It worked for an hour or so and then I heard the familiar sounds of what sound like relays clicking on and off inside the dash. Has anyone had a similar experience? Ive had a couple different shops look at it and its always turned out the same with no real answers. Any ideas?
  19. that would be a good project! Theres some nice dunes not too far away from here Ive had my legacy in places where the big guys cant touch Its almost like it floats across muddy places where the big guys sink up to the doors
  20. Got your nick. Im a linux fan myself Just a few issues I havent been able to overcome so I keep this win98 box going to surf on. Use the linux machines mainly to do word processing and record sound on. Get some odd ole errors ocasionally but other than that I love the linux.
