EA81 Meet in West Seattle This Weekend
Durania replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Make sure and take pictures for us on the other side of the country to enjoy. -
I had the same problem with my Brat a few months ago where it would die as soon as I pushed the clutch in. First thing I did was run to walmart and buy the biggest can of Carb cleaner they had and gave it a good long bath. Had my dad run it outside by the throttle and I just kept it running inside. Turns out some trash had gotten stuck down in it and it ran fine after that.

Oh I got 4, I just thought i would show those for reference. This working is probably the best news I have heard all week. Thanks, Kyle.

Thanks for the pics. I called down to the parts guy at the subaru place and they dont carry those hooks anymore. Do you think I would have some luck finding these kind of things at a Lowes or something?
-
How much does this thing weight? The sube dealership that I go to religiously is close to where I am picking it up at. Do you think they would carry them in a reasonable price range?
-
Thanks, think bungee cords would be good to tie it down?
-
So I found a high topper for my Brat, should be going to pick it up on Friday. My question is, how do I attach this thing to my Brat? I dont want this thing go shooting off onto some guy in a miata behind me.

Get some tein hood supports for my brat, that would be sweet.

Meth is like fast food here in Tennessee. Cat theft here isnt gotten as bad as theives stealing the copper wiring out of A/C units. They done that crap all summer. -
If you want a 5sp you will have to swap it in. The manual 4WD got 4 speeds.

Its easier for them to take a hack saw to your car to feed their drug addiction than to go and get a fast food job and make an honest living to feed their habits. Thats what they have been doing around here. Boils down to 100% white trash. -

New (old) sube, need help
Durania replied to SubaruMaverik's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The soft brakes could be due to air in the brake lines and could need a bleeding. There is a fix in the USRM about a sloppy shifter, I need to do the fix myself and have yet to try it. But word around here is that its awesome. Heres the link: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=49954 -
Wish the shifter in my Brat was that firm, ive got about 3 inches of play in mine.

You all should take it to Mythbusters. I dont know what to believe. -
We at this board love us some Sube pics....

I love that gold outline on the subaru insignia. Makes me feel like Christmas inside.

One of the problems when I did my clutch cable was that the clutch pedal was boogered out. Mine was a large oval; check on the pedal assembly to see how your pedal looks. Oh and buy an OEM Subaru cable. Mine was like $15.
