  1. I even got to sit in it, it still smelled new. Whatever a new Subaru BRAT smelt like.
  2. Stopped down at the Subaru place today to talk to my buddy that works the parts department, the guy next to him asked if that t-top BRAT outside was mine, I said yeah and he pointed me toward the showroom. I became weak in the knees when I seen this. 96k original miles, the owner of the dealership bought it back in 84 and left it in his garage the whole time. I would be scared to see what it would go for on ebay. The clear coat looked better than the 08 Impreza setting outside. The only camera I had is the 2.0 megapixel one in my cell, wish I had brought my digital camera. Here we go, hope this makes your day as much as mine.
  3. Thanks . Went this morning down to the local Subaru dealership to check and see about some window cranks. At 23.39 a piece, I decided that I would just check on here at a future date. Thanks guys for your support on this, its a blast now to drive through town.
  4. You got any pics of the new impreza and did you get a chance to drive it?
  5. It snows about 3 times in Tennessee each year, why in the world for ski racks?
  6. I got one in my other brat, also need to hook my dash speakers up since the retard cut them to put some speakers in the back. Thanks dude.
  7. It held the sockets onto the mechanism gear, also the ratchet to the socket.
  8. This is whats in the USRM... http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=64613
  9. Azbret, ill grab it tomorrow when im back over at my granny's house. Then ill send you some pics. It will also need the clips that hold it on the door. Alright heres some pics: I hope this super glued ratchet rots in hell:
  10. Just got home, took everybit of 4 hours. Window does have to be removed, so the whole mechanism can drop out of the bottom. I got the door panels off my other brat so now I full usage of the little door panel pockets. Ill upload pics after I dump a gallon of armor all on it. Thanks, Kyle.
  11. About the same as buying one from autozone, or whatever chain you got. I got an OEM thermostat and gasket for $8 tax and all. I was very pleased with it, the gaskets are self sealing so that helps too.
  12. I like the graphics on the side. Nice red brat, get some interior pics as well.
  13. Thanks for the advice fellas. I am really excited and nervous about doing this. Glad that I can have the luxury of rolling a window down and scared that my window will be out of adjustment and wont roll into the track just right. Shannon, in your picture I see 4 bolts; Is it safe to assume that its them holding the crank mechanism on? Thanks, Kyle.
  14. Ive used CRC cleaner before on my toyota's MAF, cleaned the snot out of it.
  15. Its not in bad shape, ill see what things are up and ill shoot some pics your way of it. No more having to go inside at the bank, drive thru here I come! Anyone else done this same thing before?
  16.:banana: Im snagging the door panels and everything off of it. One day ill have this BRAT restored to its former glory....I <3 This Board.
  17. Smartas$. Believe me, I am quite used to dealing with windows, editing vista now so it has the dreamscene capability. The no rivet thing was the best news I had gotten all day, thanks. I am crazy excited to have the ability to drive through town with my drivers side window down, Crunk is going up 22%.
  18. We start working at 10:30 Monday CST, my dad is going to help me with this. How much of this is pop riveted in?
  19. Would you want to put this door on your car? The mechanism is stripped out itself, the socket turns but the window doesnt roll down. I dont think that filing it down would be a good idea.
  20. The idiot before me on my brat broke the oem window cranks and instead of spending the $5 dollars to repair them, thought it would be great to take sockets and ratchets and press onto the roll down mechanism, stripping them out. The passenger side ratchet rolls down alright but the drivers side is gone, very stripped. Heres the pictures of my misfortune: Most of you all remember my white brat that I bought a few months ago, the window cranks and roll down mechanism are in fine shape. Where in the world do I start by repairing these blasted things? Shannon gave me a good bit of advice, just wondering what the rest of the board has to think. Also going to snag the door panels off it since he ripped the door pockets off to make room for the ratchets. Kyle.
