  1. EJ22 is the motor in it. You might also want to check in the newer gen forum being that we mostly deal with the EA series. 91 Legacy was my first car and still runs like a champ, 216K. I say buy it, best car Subaru ever made IMHO.
  2. The week before I had intake gasket failure my brat got 25 MPG give or take and thats all city driving. I did the gaskets and now I am getting 18 miles per gallon, what gives?! It has been cold (low 20's) and the only thing I can think of is it idling with the choke on at about 2800 RPM's for about 20 minutes. Would that affect my gas mileage that much?
  3. Thats BS, I bought a set of gaskets about 2 weeks ago from my dealer and they don't require a VIN number. I've got it memorized so it wouldnt matter. Here is a list of dealers the Subaru of America site lists: http://www.subaru.com/servlet/DealerSearch?bestFit=true&includeMap=true&from=topnav&dealerSearchString=west+virginia&x=0&y=0
  4. That thing just doesnt look right with that long of a bed. Seen this as well, note the last person to comment was.
  5. I drove the new WRX and loved it, really worth the look. Also I fell in love with the graphite/charcoal brown turbo legacy they had on the lot, very nice.
  6. So did he fall back off the face of the earth? I called him a couple weeks ago but no luck.
  7. A look in the USRM yields this: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=50400
  8. What I bought her: http://www.kay.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product1|10101|10001|-1|161215809|15051|15051.15057.15106
  9. This is about the most we ever get here: Rest in peace 84 GL hatchback.
  10. I am not one to bring an old thread up but I believe this needs addressing. Why can we not get a better picture for the brat in the wikipedia article. I think it deserves better than that rusted, dirty, and dented DL one that is featured. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Brat
  11. Tim you forgot, that is also a dealer installed wing made by Mitsuba.
  12. Sounds like a chevy starting up and a rally car with an open exhaust.
  13. That video got me laughing very, very hard. Had to watch it twice.
  14. My first little bit of advice pretaining to the intake manifold would be to buy the gaskets from the dealer not that autozone crap. Here is why: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=81092&highlight=intake+gasket+failure And to be careful when taking that intake bolts out, they like to break on ya. I bought a can of PB blaster and that helped to break them loose for me.
  15. I had to give that a re-read to fully understand what you were talking about. Daeron, that mind of yours' had to come in and ruin it.
  16. Need to get that stupid wing off that poor car. Looks like he was drunk when he tried to paint the six stars on the side.
  17. Looks like some kind of wigged out VW Rabbit. I couldn't imagine woud 750 hp would feel like in that thing; probably the equivalent to a fighter jet coming off the deck of a carrier.
  18. My campus is about two miles for me, work is about 3. I usually go about 20 minutes early and set the choke and let the old girl warm up. My switch is warn out so I can take the keys out and lock the door while its running and also lock my apartment up without having to turn the brat off.
  19. Wish I could afford those jump seat belts at this time. I must defer to SubaruGuru. Buying engagement ring this weekend, been putting that off since I bought the BRAT last fall. Ill eventually throw up a wanted ad cause I need the male bits as well being that one side is rusted together, belt and male part. Ebay would bring a high sum for those. Kyle.
  20. Yet again I have to say this. Go to the dealer and get a thermostat and gasket. They are awesome, I am running one as well.
