Jeff,Haven't heard from you.I sent emails,or PM's I think too.Windshield gaskets are shipping.Email or PM me,please.I replied to the Paypal payment address from your initial payment.That much I'm sure of.Talk to you soon, Paul Oh,and try some WD-40 or stronger,inside the dust boot around the piston.Let it sit facing upward for a bit,then go try it.. Seriously nice rebuilts on eBay.Randy "Mofoco" has them.Right around $49 I think.THey'll show up cheaper once in awhile,but only after you already bought them.

  3. OK,I've got you now. Yes,you can drop the carb'd engine's longblock into the SPFI car with one minor issue.When you disconnect the AIS piping from the exhaust port of the carb'd model you'll need to cover the holes with some metal shim stock,or whatever you have that'll cover those holes. Intake mainifold gaskets are the same for carb/SPFI.Be slow and careful with those intake manifold bolts.Keep in mind that most of us have snapped one of those bolts.Heli-coil to the rescue!!:-p ...or Time-sert. Good luck with it.
  4. Can the VW Bug gasket be used there?Todd (subaru3) would probably know. You can repair that floor.Won't be easy,but it doesn't have to be perfect either.We'll all try to help you out with pics,or scans of FSM's or FPM's.You can at least get the important points down,if there are any for that area you're working on.Were the seat mounting points still there?If the rot was just sheetmetal floor then you're not doing so bad.I looked at the pics very quickly before. We're all wanting reproduction parts,but I don't see that happening much at all.:-\
  5. Well,I just talked to some s.o.b. there. Good luck dealing with these holes.We'll see what happens tomorrow.Maybe this jerk was just the weekend loser yard God. Has anyone seen the underside of this car? It's a four hour drive plus more for my partner.We'd appreciate and compensate (if needed) for a quick inspection,if possible.   6. Standing aside from EJ conversion tactics,I can tell you that you have the three 10mm bolts on top and then from underside in the far wings you have I believe one 10mm bolt on each end. Take down the panels under the steering wheel first and disconnect the duct. Disconnect the radio antenea,speedo cable from underside of dash(just pull it forward out of the socket).You'll also have a vacuum line in the form of a thin plastic hose with rubber hose connecting to it.And you need to disconnect the slider cable for the heat-to-cool lever all the way down at the heater box.Just yank up on the clip there,you'll see.Then you just take the loop of end of the cable off the cock lever. Been a while for me,but I did it and got everything working again,so you can too. I did a heater core swap,that's how I got my experience.And I took many out while parting way too many cars.While you have the dash out I think you'd be foolish not to inspect the heater core for corrosion,and replace it now if need be.Also check the blower fan and the resistor pack.And make sure the heater core cock is not corroded too.No better time to clean the ducts out too. Good luck with it.

It was pretty funny hearing them in the background when I called.Whoever answered had to put the phone down and take a few steps to yell out back,etc. You can hear them saying "Yeah,it was on the internet!!!",and "Subaru people" several times. You would think that in this day and age we'd see EVERY yard set anything unusual aside for a few days and check the internet for clubs or activity to see if they can make more than scrap money from it.

But let's see exactly where these existing ones are.I search eBay often enough.There's one on there now,way overpriced.Other than that one I can't recall many for '72-79's at all.I checked "Completed Items" and got nothing. Coupes from '72-up AND GF Hardtops from '75-up: SOA001910 blue tint (Supercede number) Wagon,Sedans,and BRAT from '72-up: 665001740 clear,and 665001980 blue tint Yes,we know the BRAT started in '77 :cool: Whoo hoo! I have a 56k mile GF windshield that should fit my '73 Coupe!!

  11. Been some inquiries lately. Can we get an account of what we know of in stocks of dealers,shop owners,enthusiasts??????????? Gotta belive the numbers will fall short of demand. Personally,I see myself needing/wanting badly a second windshield for my '73 GL Coupe.And a newly produced piece for the '78 4WD Wagon would be nice.I'd accept a good used w/s for the '73 as long as it was taken from a '72-77 Stage I Coupe body recently or stored upright.I sure don't want to find a bad fit from flattening or stressing.Feel the same way about your car? Think we should look into new production of front windshield glass? I couldn't expect a Coupe production,but the wagon,sedan,hardtop group shares the same mold!! Oh,doesn't the BRAT use the same one too?My manuals are boxed up.Can't check that.

Hey uhh,certainly not wedging Matt out,but why don't we see if we're close to 25 cars first?We have untill the end of April,right?I know I'm most likely going to register at least two,maybe the wife's car too.That's 1/8th almost.Andrew,you've got plenty of cars and cash....could be six right there.For me,it might get my friend Chris to finally go to the show.He can drive my third car. Don't forget,it's a lousy $5 to add a third car.Consider it the tent fee. $15 first car,add $10 for second car,add $5 more for third car. Most of everything from '72-79,with obviuos exceptions to the bodywork.Otherwise only Coupe dashboards and shifter consoles are different.Coolest seats are the GF's.GF's also had a tachometer.The instrument clusters should swap.Not sure it a coupe dash works in sedan or the other way around or not at all but there is a difference. You really want cars from '74 through '77 stage I,sedans and wagons. Datsuns of the same era share electrics.
  17. We do get together for off roading in southern New Jersey.Other folks have began efforts to meet at other off roading spots too.Check the board come springtime and you'll probably see one for eastern PA and one for central/northern NY.
