  1. Yeah, but I'm thinking we might not be able to do it untill the following weekend, let me check. That being the case the date would be Saturday October 21st. Would that work for you guys? Nothing set in stone yet,so let me check about the 14th and if that works for us I hope it does for you guys too. 14th or 21st Matt,Dave, other PA people??? Mike in NJ? Frank? CT people?? NY guys??
  2. I was going to ask but it seems you answered.....yours is 4WD already, right? I'm pretty sure Todd meant that if you have the old four speed FWD tranny that an upgrade would be the 5spd FWD from a GL,or Coupe, etc.
  3. This is one of those RARE finds in the northeast. The kind I used to get before I got old and responsible. .....well,old anyway.
  4. You scored!! Hey,I got outbid for your mudflaps......I'll get that engine before winter. Good luck with the new baby!
  5. Time-serts are awsome for this application. You install the insert much like a heli-coil but you now have a permanent thread and can use the proper stud over and over.
  6. It's sandy trail riding.Sometimes the trails have high centers but we never really have a problem. You can always park your car and ride along with someone too.
  7. It'll likely be a somewhat short notice from me as to when we are going. My son's birthday is coming up and we definitely want to go around then and before Thanksgiving. You folks are welcome to post your prefered dates too. Saturdays are best. Holy dukey it's October as I write this!!!! :-\ How about two weeks from now?
  8. Anthony, these are without question, the most rare of all Subarus left in the USA or otherwise. We know of only three or four running or close to running here in the USA.
  9. What kind of troubles is the Brat having?
  10. I'll check on that for you.I also own a '73 1400. Be sure to ask me again in I forget.
  11. Of course he got lucky. He's a Vintage Subaru owner!! Gotta beat the ladies off you with a stick, they swarm you so badly.
  12. None of us have, because they have not arrived yet. Should be in the next couple of weeks.
  13. Brian, you're not the only one waiting,so don't get the understanding that I'm holding out, etc. for leverage or any other reason. I've explained the situation several times now. It's rather unsettling to you,I know, but everyone has to wait on that stuff. We still have not gotten the three of us together again to go over the parts and they are all in storage so my family can have a more decent household.Hang tight, please. You should have let me know you were in NY,that was an excellent opportunity for you to come by,and for me to have an extra set of hands to get the stuff out and go through it. Paypal account has cash so if you can go I'll pay up front this time.
  14. Will pay: $5 for the interior rear door pull handles $30 for rear seat backrest IF it's not torn, etc. or beaten especially on the backside (upper vinyl portion) Please let me know if the carpets are worth the effort.I really need the front but would consider all, even the rear cargo area if they're really nice. More people coming to view our place so hopefully it sells soon and I'll take care of your needs from the NOS stash. How's the steering wheel?
  15. Definitely the last run for the mighty touring wagon, unless some miracle occurs. Could be cool to waste it there, grab the engine and some goodies, and get a ride home from someone.
  16. We'll be hitting the almighty Pine Barrens a.k.a. Wharton St. Forest starting at the ranger station on Rt. 206 in Atsion,NJ Sandy trails, nothing too crazy.Bring a tow strap just incase.Always smart to have a small shovel and some board or something to get traction on,but it's pretty light duty.We can make it hairy by going faster. Occassional water action. Date? Well, that's up in the air.October __????? Saturdays are best but we'll consider a Sunday run. All I know if that my son and I and maybe the whole family this time, will be camping out, probably in the Batso camping area (state) or right in the Barrens like last time we went. That's rustic out there.Batso camping area is a decent little state run facility.Has toilets and showers. Talk to me.Has to be pretty soon.Don't want to wake up with frost on the pumpkin!
  17. Congrats Bobby!! Looks excellent Soak those flap nuts 'n bolts in PB Blaster, etc. Just DON'T rush through it and kill 'em. ...yeah,Carrie,or Billy Jack or Fritz the Cat,or something like that. Right behind ya,honey.
  18. Small potatoes DC to Scranton. Next you'll be running 70's cars across the country. Oh,some of the stories we have to share on driving unknown cars mega lengths of miles.....oh boy.... Most turn out OK.
  19. Thanks, and yes I understand what you mean.I really don't have a lot of time for running around and finding a coupling and all,but I'll let see how it goes tomorrow. I think I might have solved my own problem.Let me see how shimming the bracket out does.A couple of washers should get me just enough thread to catch a nut or two. Not exactly. You see when you lighten a flywheel it causes the clutch fork to be placed more rearward. The clutch is adjusted really nicely right now. This car is really nice for this area,so I prefer to try to keep it 100% intact.Only 5 more year untill it's vintage.
  20. hmmmmmm, might work if I can get a coupling small enough to fit through the pin. Hey,what if I bent the bracket back on top of the bell housing?Or shim that bracket out further rearward.Maybe I can get just enough travel out of that. I've had no time to even look at it.Let me see if that works for plan A.Plan B will be the coupling idea.
  21. Problem is I don't think there's anyone nearby with enough interest and money to take the lot. Right now is the worst time for me for buying any of your items but in the future I'd be willing to make an offer on a tranny and engine,or more.Don't really need turn signals, etc. but you probably have something else there I can use.One of those radiators, for sure, and I'd like to see the trim pieces you have too. "WagonsOnly" needs a known good working alternator for a 1400....right now,and probably a known working voltage regulator too.
  22. One more car in the Subaru parking area,I say. At least split time with us.
