  1. I need headrests for my gen two brat. you mentioned you may have some. how much do you want for them.

  2. i was having a misfire issue on a 2000 rs. so i changed the spark plugs and the cylinder 4 plug was fouled. it ran great for about 200 miles and then fouled again. Im going to replace the wires today but the coil pack costs 150 dollars. is there a way of checking if the one i have is functional.
  3. 2000 subaru rs. I can see the sunroof opens by two screws ( one on each side) that spin simultaneously to open or close the sunroof. I can see that the screw on the driver side is broken and thus only one side of the sunroof is being propelled and it is jamming. How do i remove the sunroof so i can fix this?
  4. i only want the fan to run all the time because it would be the easiest way to make it operational. Additionally having the fans set up on separate circuits would increase reliability in that if one went out for whatever reason the other would still be functional. The rest of the cooling system works great, on the highway she runs nice and cool all the time.
  5. Unfortunately the thermoswitch does not have a quick disconnect. it is wired directly into the wiring harness. I was however, able to get the primary fan running again. So the car will drive fine and not overheat provided that i do not turn on the ac. I want to wire the second fan so that it is on all the time when the car is on. what would be the best way to do that.
  6. I am trying to get both of the electric fans in my 85 brat operational. one seems to be working most of the time from the thermo-sensor input or from having the ac on. The one fan by itself does not cool enough to be able to run the ac while i am idling. the other fan does not turn on at all, i connected it straight to the battery and the fan motor works so it must just not be getting power. I'm not sure what the best way to deal with this is. does anyone have a wiring diagram? i have the chiltons and haynes manuals but all they have is a vacuum diagram. any help is appreciated
  7. I figured out the reason for my confusion, this was not the ea82 turbo setup that i thought it was. The donor car is a 1983 turbo ea81 4 door loyale. I am curious why this type of FI conversion is not more prevalent? Is it harder? less reliable? other issues?
  8. stay away from the epoxy floors, they are not near as durable as they claim to be; dirt gets ground into them pretty easily. we had them installed where i work and we have to spend 5 hours a week minimum buffing and polishing them to keep them looking good. Just sealing the cement is a great cost effective alternative.
  9. what terms can i search to find the writeup on how to do a fuel injection swap on the ea81. I found a turbo loyale with the parts to convert my 85 brat to fuel injection. Now i just need to know how. thanks.
  10. thats what i needed, a good picture. I ended up buying those aluminum 15" x 7" wide rims for 100$. im working on cleaning them up really nice. if they stick out too much ill just sell them and get your set up exactly. nice brat, it looks great
  11. I saw an 87 xt at the junkyard the other day. I saw that it was the fuel injected ea82... is that the fi system, wiring harness, and computer that i could put onto my 85 brat. Also if anyone would be interested in parts off of it let me know.
  12. wow gd, way to go and make all of us feel stupid
  13. or you can do the 6 lug conversion like me. they have a great write up for it
  14. Ok, so 6 or 7 inches wide with 4 inches from the inside of the rim to the hub. What do you think of these? http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/pts/1225548504.html
  15. i have an 85 brat, no lift, stock. I want to put some bigger wheels on it to give it a little more aggressive look without lifting it. I am planning on doing a 6 lug conversion and bought a set of rims that would have been perfect except that they were way too deep (10"). now i have to sell them on craigslist, luckily they were only 40 bucks so i should be able to get rid of them fairly quickly. the guy i bought them from was in awe of the brat by the way. haha. anyhow sorry for the ramble but what is a good depth to a rim that maybe will stick out an inch or so but still be totally legal without fender flares or anything like that?
  16. how much is a thermoswitch, id like to hook one up to an electric fan in my 85 brat. It has never overheated but when i am sitting in traffic it does tend to get pretty hot. but i dont want to have to deal with a manual switch.
  17. you are the man gd, thanks for the advice. Since i am still in decent shape with my current carb, im gonna be patient and keep an eye out for a subaru at the local auctions and part out the rest of it.
  18. If i were to go to a junk yard and find a spfi system for my 85 brat what would the junkyard likely charge me? would i need any other parts?
  19. My 85 brat dies if i let off the gas in the first 30 seconds after startup. After that the engine is warm and it purrs at 7-800 rpms. However in that first 10-30 seconds if i let off the gas the rpms drop to 4-500 and it usually stalls out. Also, about 1 in 10 times when i turn it off, it diesels for a second. Any suggestions?
  20. hey are you still interested in a gen 1 brat. i found one at an auction, i just want the seats out of the bed

  21. what is the current value for a generation 1 brat with little rust and in good running condition. specifically west coast value?
