  1. Wow, I'm going through the same problem in my 93, however, I have figured out a way to get it into 4wd and out, but you don't use the button. 1. Open your hood. 2. Look for 2 solenoids right next to eachother(they are on the far right corner by the driverside dash) The solenoid on the left, is the one that engages 4WD. Have someone press the 4wd button, you should here a click at this solenoid. 3. If it IS clicking but your still not getting enough vacuum while the 4WD button is pressed (like me) heres what I do, pay attention, take the vacuum hose from the RIGHT solenoid, and put it onto the LEFT solenoid, (just let the extra hose dangle). Now, you need to take the tip of your finger and plug the top(where the hose used to be) of the RIGHT solenoid. It should engage if you have the same problem as me so check if the dash light comes on, if it does switch the hoses back to where they were. 4. Shut the hood. 5. Done If that doesn't do it, heres a few thing to check out/replace. The 4WD solenoid commonly fails, as do vacuum hoses over time. check the vacuum canister for leaks (its that white canister that is mounted sideways on the upper left passenger side under the hood, The 4WD diaphgram(the thing that engages the 4WD) might be faulty/leeky. Hope this helps, Tyler 2.txt
  2. What kind of exhaust set up do you have? that sounds rad.
  3. Haha, I wish man.....thats way to nice for me... BTW it will be out of most likely a Duplicolor Spra can.
  4. So I'm going to paint my 93 Wagon and I haven't decided how yet...I know what color{s} that I'm interested in, but can't decide....I like darker royal blues, BLACK, dark gray, dark teal....I cant really decide, I have the blue and a bit of black interior....I don't want anything real flashy(no racing stripes or anything) maybe a bit of a fade though......I'm pretty set on painting my rims black....so post me some ideas please.
  5. Yea. Uh, so have any of you put in cupholders? To my knowledge, there weren't any available? Am I wrong? So post a pic of yours if you got them please!
  6. My parents have one of those "spray on oven cleaner can"'s and it is called zep?
  7. """"if you disconnected the diaphragm fro the threaded rod to the tranny you can manually operate the 4wd mechanism in the tranny. this is what subieecch refers to by "getting rid of all that crap and install a lever"""" Are there any kits or plans etc. to do this, or do I have to fab something up? How hard a job is it?
  8. That is, after the conversion? or are they too wide? I think these are the correct one, but in the desription it says they are 8" wide? is that right? It seems like that would rub to me? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/15-CHEVY-GMC-6-LUG-WHEELS-RIMS_W0QQitemZ8052086700QQcategoryZ43955QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. Unnecessary, I've decided that I'm gonna just keep it my daily driver, I don't reckon that I'll have it that long anyway.
  10. Are there any kits or plans etc. to do this, or do I have to fab something up? How hard a job is it? Also. torque bind fro the differences in rotation between the front and rear axles across the transission 4wd "transfer case" (really a direct drive off the front diff) ^^^--So that is supposed to happen? I don't understand?
  11. UPDATE! OK after fooling around with it heres what my grandpa and I discovered. 1. There doesn't seem to be enough suction getting to the lever thing. However, there don't seem to be any leaks or cracks...all of the vacuum connections suck at about 20(on a vacuum meter guage thingy) 2. We discovered that you can get it into 4WD by taking the right solenoid hose and switching it to the left solenoid(the one that is activated by pressing the 4WD button) and plugging the left hole with the tip of my finger(This was with the button at the ON position) This caused the dash light to come on also. 3. While taking the car for a quick spin while making sharp turns the rear was similar to a live (1 piece) axel. the inside wheel would spin, while the outside wheel would slide. Not good. 4. It also got stuck in 4WD until I drove in reverse. So what do yall think? Tyler PS. I knew beforehand the 4WD didnt work because I jacked all the wheels up, and the fact that the dash light wasn't on.
  12. Ok UPDATE: Ok After fooling around with your suggestions I have noticed some good and bad things, bad - I think the 4WD dashlight might be burnt out? unless it only turns on when 4WD is actually ENGAGED? and 4WD still doesn't work. Good- Button and vacuum/Solenoid seem to be working because when I press the button I hear it click and it hisses air when I first press it. Does that mean theres a possible leak, or is that normal? So I need to know where the lever or w/e the vacuum engages for 4WD is located? Do I need to remove the skid plate to access it? pics are appreciated if possible. Oh, and rllywagon I changed the fuse with no effect.
  13. Thanks for the replys, I'm going to go look for these things right now. How can I tell if the car goes into 4WD? Is there a dash light?
  14. Ok I have a 93 Loyale S/w PshButton 4WD 5 Spd. Manual. And the 4wd doesn't work. I dont know how to get it to. Nothing happens when I press the 4WD button, no lights, flashes, strobes, buzzes, whistles, etc. So uhh.....Where do I start?
  15. I've been around tools since I was around 12-13 I used to ride BMX bikes, So technically I'm more of a boke mechanic....I can do ANYTHING involving bikes, cars is a different story. With BMX's you tighten the stuff as hard as you can basically, at least I did with no problems:grin: .
  16. I'm more the husky/football build type...plus I left weights everyday. I also noticed that when I play basketball i shoot to hard almost all the time lol.....I think the weights are getting to me!
  17. Man, I hate being young(16), strong, and let's not forget stupid. Anyways, after the last couple days ive probably snapped about 5 or 6 bolts (fan guard[2], battery holder[1], alternator[1], im sure theres 1 or 2 I can't think of) on my 93 Loyale S/W. PT 4wd 5 Spd. Well anyway, while redoing the CV boots on it, I've been putting it back together and while tightening the ball joint back up, I stripped the damn thing. so after a good 30 min. we finally got it off....luckily alls that I stripped was the castle nut. So now, my grandpa is off to the hardware store.....nothing ever goes smooth for me.....damn lol. at least I have another month before I get my license, hopefully we'll have her all ready by then......
