  1. Agreed Disagree. If you inflate to max pressure when tire is cold, it will warm up when you drive, thus increase the pressure beyond maximum and a tire might blow up.
  2. I disagree. I tried and I returned them, I think they are not worth as much as they cost.
  3. If you have MT then your part numbers are 20330AC300 right and 20330AC310 left If you have AT your part numbers are 20330AC320 and 20330AC330 L model part numbers end in 020,030,040,050; so they are different part numbers. No idea about physical fit. Part numbers from Subaru Fast US cdrom. They sort of line up with description on 1stsubaru, if you do search by part number.
  4. Here, this will narrow your search. http://www.sromagazine.com/wheelguide.html Just remember to check offset. P.S. link is old, so doublecheck.
  5. This is why I personally prefer Subaru Fast software. splicesite just for fun can you try entering your vin on http://www.subaru-sale.ru/vin/ It's in russian but should be pretty intuitive. I wonder if it will screw up or not. You can translate output page later if anything is not clear.
  6. 7500 miles might have been very different from what you expect, some one might have raced them, used them well into warm weather etc. 40% measure is fine, but you only have milage, not treadwear, right? This is not a kind of bet I personally would take. Good luck Good luck there as well
  7. Depends on what do you want to get from VIN Basic stuff can be figured out using this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_VIN_codes
  8. These blizzaks loose winter compound very quickly, and under it there is a mediocre allseason compound. Price and milage suggest that this is exactly what you will get. Offset is fine. Tire size has 5% larger rolling radius so your speedo will lie about 5% down (that is - if you drive 100mph it will show 95). If you lend your car to someone - they will get a ticket and blame you. Choice is yours.
  9. woa,92 impreza! Seriously though - count number of long/short consecutive flashes. Description of procedure is here: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1c/62/79/0900823d801c6279.jsp[/url] Codes are here: http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?ForwardPage=/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/1c/63/8f/0900823d801c638f.jsp
  10. 950 is an allseason tire, although some people use it as summer tire. They should not be driven in snow though. Don't you mean es100? Yeah, I heard some positive reviews about them. I currently searching for decent summer tire for recently purchased 96 legacy wagon, and these are one of the few choices I have without going to a plus size.
  11. I got them last spring for my other car. Best summer tire I have ever had. Very good wet traction. Haven't tried them on subaru though and not sure I will, cause I'd have to go +2 in tire size and get a new set of rims and that adds a lot to a price. Also I'm pretty sure if you go driving on wet muddy road/gravel/sand - they would suck.
  12. If I were you, I'd dump re92a on ebay and get a set of GY F1 GS-D3 for summer.
  13. I've got reverse problem. I own a 96' legacy with MT and Nokian RSI tires. We got some fresh snow today (~2"), and I went to a parking lot to learn how the car behaves in a skid. The lot is not that big, so speed was 30-40 at most. Could not get into any serious skid. I tried steering hard, braking hard during turn, using parking brake during turn for a few seconds, hard downshifting from 3 to 2. Couldn't get into anything serious. I guess I have to find some ice instead of snow or speed up.
  14. Weel, to make it accurate one would have to make sure he uses the same gas station and the same pump.
  15. If you have laptop you can get an OBD2->rs232 cable for 50-70$ of ebay and there's lot's of free software that can work with those.
  16. I did not get, did you check knock sensor other than by looking at is? You should check for continuity between sensor's electric terminal and ground. If its there - sensor's dead. That's what I had recently, but the CEL code was consistent with knock sensor problem.
  17. Edmunds gives 11251 for Outstanding condition with all the options. This one probably doesn't have dual moonroof or CD changer, does it? Neither it is in outstanding condition, is it? Anyways, this is DOHC, so head gasket might fail and you'll have $2k repair bill. 10-15% of those fail on average, but for a car on a dealer lot I'd say that this probability is a lot higher (say 50%). So I'd deduct 1-1.5k of the price, and that's for a car with no other issues. Now - I have no idea what kind of 99'Accord you have. What's the kbb/edmunds retail/private party value?
  18. First - I would make sure if rotors really need replacement. Ask the dealer why exactly. They love to replace rotors, but it not always necessary. There are specifications of rotor thickness etc., and if its thick enough you can use your old ones.
  19. Yeah, right, perfectly good tire. No wonder why set of 4 wrx rims on ebay usually sells for about the same price as a set with re92 on them. Just have a look at tirerack rating, and keep in mind that people that rate tires there will generally like anything, cause the typical comparison is between old and bald set of tires, to a new set.
  20. Yeah, 195-60-15 is a correct size (like 0.1% deviation from stock rolling radius), but a lot of people get a set of used 16" WRX rims (lots of those on ebay). You can get'em real cheap, cause many WRX owners replace them anyway. They look much better on legacys than on wrx. Just make sure you throw away stock tires they are usually sold with no matter how much treadwear is left. If you keep stock wrx tires you speedo will be 3% too low. But you can get 205-50-16, which is in 0.5% of your original size.
  21. I thought 99' Forester and Impreza RS and 00' Legacy/OB are SOHC already. Also info on what is covered by warranty might help. For SOHC 99-02 there is recall described here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12780 Head gasket issues on DOHC are ignored by Subaru, so there you are on your own.
  22. I wouldn't let this guy anywhere near my car after such a screw up. 95 year is the major body style change, so its easy to distinguish one from another, however 94 axles might fit 95 subaru. I personally think that he damaged something trying to force the old one out.
