Engine swap Emergency!!
you may be able to connect the block's hose to the water pipe off the top of the water pump/block, using the ea82 manifold

Auto to D/R Swap completed! And a visit from Miles Fox and the guys
the DUTWEILLER HELMET is pimp! keeps my hair fropm getting FYOSTEY while under the soob looking at the pics of the jackstand collapse, looks like i would have survived anyway if i wouldnt have been too quick to jump out from underneath. the cinder block saved the tranny. not the first time a car has fallen off, but this would be my narrowest escape, althought it didnt fall down far enought to crush me

Made it home, with a new Bumper/Brushguard
ok, lets see some trash cans!

sunday indeed, nothing like the cops in WV, and zanny dook being arrested in ohio on the way home!

How unrealistic is a N/A MPFI EA81?
i could have sworn i saw NA mpfi on an 84 sedan, digi dash and auto 4wd

zanny dook got arrested on the waty home last night. no worry, 50 bucks later and we were on our way as if nothing happened. boy those cops didnt know what think, or what to do for that matter. turns out my bench warrant in that town has disappeared, because the last time thay me and zanny dook rolled thrui that town together, I got arrested. so future trips, we will have to bring bond money, just in case, as these things seem inevetable (at least we didnt leave him behind, but only 75 miles from home)

- along the way(updated road trip itenerary)
As you may already know there is a ROAD trip planned for march 19-thru the following week. the journey will take i90 west and us2 on the way back. from indiana to idaho. there will be a camera on board to film the action. if anyone would like us to stop by SPEAK UP NOW, so we can fit it into the itenerary. email me with addys and phone no's milesfox@yahoo.com- Midwest Subaru Meet-April 24th and 25th starts 24th at 11AM
hey noah, i have thought about going, sinsce its so long of a drive, maybe we can meet up along the way? you could come to indiana fri nite and stay over, then hit the road in the morning cant be too much farther than WV- PnP Windsor
yeah, if you mount an ea82 carb, you will need the LOWER air filter housing. the housing all hooks up the same, in all the same places, its just the hole for the carb is bigger. the lids and the filter themselves are the same between the 2- PnP Windsor
try an ea82 hitachi carb on your existing manifold. the only difference is the air cover for the carb itself, the black ones go to ea82 carbs, bigger hole. but ea82 carb will bolt up to ea81 hitachi intakes- Engine swap Emergency!!
that is what i did when i mocked up the spfi intake to the ea81 block. the vac advance would point forward towards the front of the motor i also had ea81 in my 86 sedan, with ea82 intake.- RX Conversions
my 87 turbo wagon DID NOT have a rear swaybar, i thought that it would, maybe thye rear trailing arms have been switched out? well, now i have xt6 front and rear swaybar we swapped rear swaybar into jims wagonb from a turbo XT- '85 Subaru gl-10 wagon
ok, then i guess we can rule out the timing belt, and focus on the alternator. the alternator has an internal voltage regulator, so replacing the alternator would be a good place to strart. can you get it to start with a jump?- Auto to D/R Swap completed! And a visit from Miles Fox and the guys
it was all fun, got to see WV and morgan town, i dont know what i saw more of, subarus or hot chicks! got to ride in an xt6 for the first time, see how they run. we did a bang-out job on the car, but if was pissoble it could have been done in one day. we will definately make the trip again..just to hang out:D- Auto to D/R Swap completed! And a visit from Miles Fox and the guys
yo james, i have webspace we can put it on, shoot me an email. do you have ftp?- Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN
everything is all set to go, 2 weeks away, and i am within 50 bucks of my goal to save, the rx has been reliable for the past 4000 miles. i have an extra battery. i can bring a throwout bearing "just in case" as i would not be afraid to replace it off the side of the road, if it so needed to be we will be installing a roof rack on the RX, and we will borrow the rear trailing arm off my car because the wheel baring started to act up coming back from WV with a motor, trans, fenders, and head in the back- '85 Subaru gl-10 wagon
will it start with a jump start? if it does, you know it runs, but if it doesnt, what about a BROKEN TIMING BELT an alternator will go bad, and the car will slowly die as the battery goes dead. but if the car DIES ALL AT ONCE i would say timing belts take off the distributor cap, and see if the rotor turns when you crank th motor. if its not turning, you have a broken belt- Engine swap Emergency!!
what about mounting the disty backwards? take off the mounting flange and turn it upside down on the ea81. mount the disty body 180 backwards, but the rotor in time. then run the wires 180 to the cap, so they are in time with the rotor- Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN
can you handle a trashwagon!? dont worry, its all fit for travel. suppose you drive and let zanny dook ride with myoss feece, to give him a break. we can rotate who is with the interviewer, and keep 2 people to each car, you could get exclusive interviews with each individual, in rotation. give everyone a chance to tell their personal story and all, to add to characterism- Road Trip II: TrashWagon's RETURN
if i could find the camera i would have a pic of "multi configuration mode" of the RX. i have this idea that when one side or the other of the back seat is folded down, the camera can be mounted and face either the driver or the passenger up front. maybe a 'pod mount to raise it up enough to see out the window/hatch- EA-81 into EA-82 Swap
you will have to lengthen the wires on the distributor to reach the coil- 1800 pistons in a 1600?
i like the injector in the manifold idea. if you have to have that made, why not cosider constant fuel injection? you could build up 2 manifolds, one for mpfi, one for cis, and thus the car would be modular, just leave the mpfi wires disconnected, plug them back in between swaps >>>>>>>sidenote about the heads, the fat case 85+hatch motor heads have the same valves as the ea81, 83 and 84, and my comparisond prove that ea81T valves are the same size as ea81- Cv going bad
i dont know, i think that would be a sign of the cone washer or axle nut being loose, hub somewhat wobbly. it will be more like smack sounding type click, relative to deceleration the trashwagon was making clickity noises, as the threads on the axle shaft were a little boogered, but it broke the outer cv downshifting to an exit ramp in wisconsin on my way west i would check the axle nut torque and the cone washer. mine clicked because i knew of the condition, the axle broke from a bad boot, not torque related - along the way(updated road trip itenerary)
