  2. It can be done at home. You need 2 people though. AND....cut the old windshield out with a razor blade. Don't try to remove it with the old gasket intact. You will crack the glass! To install, use a greased rope in the grove and pull from the inside, while someone pushes from the outside. Todd
  3. The fenders and door from a 2 door Gen 1 are the same as the fenders and doors from a gen 1 BRAT. (The glass is different though, but it interchanges between the doors.) The car doors have a side impact bar built in, but the brat door does not. (Other wise the doors shells are identical). Todd www.vintagesubaru.com
  4. I'm sure someone could buy a few extra and sell on eBay. There are Gen 1 owners not on the forum. Just a thought! Todd
  5. Thats what I thought, but I wasn't sure. Thanks! Todd
  6. Quickie question. On the bottom of a 1995 Impreza radiator there are 2 fittings for the trans cooler. Does is matter which one the fluid from the trans is pumped into? Is there a specific "in" and "out"? Thanks, Todd
  7. Congrats on your project! Looks like a keeper! These cars are getting rare indeed.....esp, with a plow! Feel free to contact me too if you have concerns or questions. There are alot of knowledgable folks on here. Todd http://m2.aol.com/subaru3 subaru3@aol.com
  8. I believe the gen1/stage 1 front glass is same. Todd
  9. 25 is GREAT! I'm sure we can sell them! These gaskets ALSO fit ALL gen 1 wagons, coupes and sedans....EXCEPT GF. They can work in the GF , but it's tight in the upper L and R corners. (But better than a rotton gasket!) We better get them, as I'm sure the demand is coming. A leaking front gasket will destroy these cars! I personally don't need any, as I already bought from them. Todd
  10. I guess I got the jobber price at $41
  11. Now that I think about it, I believe there is an o ring inside. Todd
  12. It seems their search is rucked up. Just call them. 17111 TYE S.E. MONROE, WA, 98272 TEL: 800-367-8241 360-805-0707 FAX: 800-545-5083 360-805-9191 Todd
  13. You mean when the shifter rod goes into the case?? The 4wd selector is up high and typically does not leak. All my single range trannys have done this. It's a slow, slow drip though. If you part facing downhill slightly, it stops. It's just a machined seal. (I think there is an o-ring inside maybe?) Todd
  14. This place has them NEW. Not 20 years old, that have been sitting on a shelf and dry rotting! http://www.prp.com/prp/ The dealer gasket would not be the best choice. The 2 I used from a dealer were OVERPRCED and were stiff and dry. PRP has a BRAND NEW one for like $50 Todd
  15. That is not from a 79. It is from a gen 2 tailgate. Todd
  16. I can attest positively to this project! I helped them out with the BRAT stripes. I worked with Kevin. I know I have some of the items. I'll have to dig for more. I'm sure you will get most of that fairly easy here. Let's see some pics! You can use this part # for the hood SUBARU badge. It's chrome and the same size as the original. Just cut off the 2 plastic tabs. I used these on 4 of mine. CHROME SUBARU EMBLEM FROM 1990s Subaru # 93060AA010 Todd
  17. That hot fuse for the headlights was actually a recall on most Gen 1s. The dealership bypassed the fuse block and installed a heavy duty harness and separate fuse. The resistance in the stock fuse block is too great and it heats up. In many cases melting the plastic plug on the back of the fuses. It could cause the lights to fail and an accident to occur. Separate it and wire in a heavy duty harness. Todd
  18. The upper wheel well area is a typical rust area on all Gen 1s. It will be interesting to see the posts on this! (I have talked to Trudy on the phone.) Todd
  19. You mean the little blue air cleaner type thing? Yes, you have to get it from Subaru...if they still carry it.
  20. I figured in out on my own. The TCU is located under the drivers dash on 93-97 Imprezas. Still trying to figure out the interchangability of a 95 Legacy and 95 Impreza auto transmission. (Both IDENTICAL engines. 2.2)
  21. I'm sure there is a TCU. The Legacy and Impreza have different rear ends in the same year?
  22. Where is the Transmission control unit, for an automatic located on a 95 Impreza? Will an AWD 4EAT (2.2) from a 95 Legacy be a direct swap into a AWD 4EAT (2.2) 1995 Impreza? Thanks! Todd
