"squeak" on Impreza 5 speed????
My 5 speed manual FWD 1995 Impreza has this squeak, more so when cold. Comes from what appears to be the rubber trans mount. Is this common????? Has any one else experienced this? When I take torque loads on and off the trans, like when clutching, it makes this noise. It's not mechanical and the car only has 63k on it. Should I just replace the mount? Thanks much, Todd

'70's subaru spotted
You need a windshield from a 2 door coupe or a GF. HOWEVER, the BRAT, sedan, wagon glass may fit, but it would be a tad bit small in the top left and right hand corners. I think you could get by though. Todd

"quick" Impreza transmission question
SUBARU3 replied to SUBARU3's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHmm....Subaru would have invested extra to have different clutch packs for 0.4 liters? I wish I could find this out for sure without taking the trans apart. Todd

2.2 Timing belt break-in??
SUBARU3 replied to SUBARU3's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIt seems to be on the outside edge. Not bad really, but noticeable. About 500 miles since installation.

2.2 Timing belt break-in??
After a fresh timing belt installation on a 2.2, is it normal for them to break-in a bit. I noticed some wear on the edge of the belt and some "belt fiber-dust" in the freshly cleaned timing belt cover. Thanks!
