Engine bay smoking
My car does the same thing, But it was from the oil pan gasket, and a torn cv, that just caked up down below and the exhaust heats it up enough to make it smoke a little and smell like burnt oil, not to sweet though, but still smokes, and I have swapped the engine to a low mile ea81 import, still does it with no leakes anywhere

can I run a msd 6AL
I was curious if anyone has run or is running a 6al msd ignition box on their GL. I ran a blaster coil before but it kept wrecking my distributor,?? Im not sure if the gls run a 12 to 18 volt system,. I know they work on vw bugs, I dont see why they wont work on subaru , I was also planning on running the nissan 90 amp alternator as well.. if that makes a diffence. thanks for advise

lighend flywheel for 90 legacy
HATCHY replied to sleepylegacy's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXWhy not just take it down and get it lightened a few pounds, pretty cheap. Ive heard you dont want to go to much, becuase it will rev up super fast and theres a chance, depending how hard your driving to damage the input shaft

Ive seen a ea81wagon at pull a part, I spotted it and started making my way to it thinking I had found a nice low mile car, i mean wow this thing was so clean inside and out it almost looked like a new car, So I opened the hood and the motor was still so clean, so then I looked on the odom and it had 421,000. Subaru GL & Early Model Legacy. Body Kits
Hey guys. Me and a good buddy of mine are going to start making custom body kits for cars,{ side skirts, front bumpers, rear bumpers} Since Im a big soob fan Im going to make one for my 84 STD Hatch. I just want to see how many other people would be interested in them. It will definatly make your soob look like a whole new beast, and with an ej swap you will be turning heads. Do you need a custom dash, Pillar Guage Pod, Speaker boxes, fenders, hoods, hood scoops? We can get it done,.. Heres a couple examples of some of the work..http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3109820/6

grinding noise
Hey I have an 87 std hatch. and I noticed that when the car was cold, and I start it up, It makes a grinding noise. I thought it was the throw out bearing because it goes away if I hold the clutch in, but when I release the clutch it starts again, and It only does this until it warm up then nothing. So I pulled the motor and tranny and put in a new rebuilt tranny just to be safe because my old one was hard sticky shift. So i bought a new tranny and a throw out bearing, The clutch has lke 50 percent left on it. ( io forgot to mention that the clutch slips bad too. so I replaced everything throwout and ttranny. And what do you know right when I started it up It started again, Anyone know what this is??????? I need to drive my soob gas is so expensive lol

serious clutch problem
Where to begin. I have an 87 std hatch, I just purchased a import motor it was an automatic, i also have a new clutch kit that has less then 2000 miles on it. The clutch and everything worked fine on my old motor that i took out. what is happening now is. the clutch doesnt fully engage, And when it does it takes 5 or so seconds for the car to start moving, and its really hard to get into gear, and when in gear is almost like im in nuetral, i can rev the motor and not go anywhere like a bunrt out auto. The throw out bearing is new and flywheel is ok all clutch parts are new. anyone now what is wrong, and we tried adjusting the clutch too, and checked the pedel rump roast, and clutch cable????????????????????????????????????
