Here is how you tell the difference... All OB had a 4.44 final gear ratio, so if you find an OB trans you are set. BUT The other problem is, 99 are a mixed year for the SUS. Some still had the phaseI 4eat, like mine did while other got the PhaseII trans. The way to tell them apart easily is to look for a spin on extrnal filter. These spin on filters are found on Phase 2 transmissions ONLY... No Phase I had an external filter... Good luck, hope this helps Tom

I ended up ordering mine from Tirerack... Local tire shop couldn't get them... About $100 a tire for the 215/75/r15's on my legacy Tom

I run them on my SUS, good tires for on and off road purposes. Nothing too extreme yet nothign that lacks in the woods... My car can go anywhere Tom

Now this is still a little shakey but I figure I'll ask anyway. The guys and I have been on some trails around here since we caught the offroad bug in our outbacks. Found a great spot to host a rally-X. Now this would be un-sanctioned and more or less just fun runs on a course we make up... Just seeing if anyone would be interested. It is legal to be there as long as the vehicles are registered and insured. Let me know if you are interested Tom

yeah she is back on the road again... Now it is just straightening out the front bumper so everything lines up properly again... BTW I got a blower motor and a driveshaft for it... Now I need that sticker we talked about... Oh and Hocrest is gonna hook me up with those leathers too. Lift kit comming soon as I stop buying every legacy I can find... might pick up another SUS... nice white limited... and Mike is getting a red outback this week... Tom

This was a budget build. We bought the SUS to flip it. When we realized we didn't have enough money to fix the 2.5 in it... We made the ultimate decision to use a spare engine/trans/harness we had here to make it work. Now it is a passion and I refuse to sell it.... SO after the *tree* we rebuilt the front end and got a new set of more appropriate rubber... Pics below Before After The headlight is a little tweaked on the pass side and I need to mess with some alignment on it..> I also need the two piece healights still to make everything kosher, i am also in the market for a new bumper cover BUT this will do for now to get everything lined up and set Tom

thought the headlights were different?? The SUS has two piece clear lense lights Tom
