So been runnin with out a thermostat for a month now and i havnt noticed any changes she runs real cool barley gets to the quarter mark on the temp gauge. And shes a turbo rx!!! the new water pump and two row rad. help with the coolness of the engine. But just curious to know if ill be suffering down the lane cause i didnt put a thermostat in it.

Just to inform everyone i got a crawlerdans RX instead! and man am i super happy with it!!!

yup i have a 2 core on my rx and it stays nice and cool. well after i ripped out all the AC crap that was in the way of the radiator. lol and after i replaced the crappy waterpump. now it only goes to about a quarter of the way up on the temp guage and i can boost boost boost!

So i replaced my water pump on my ea82t and while i was doing it i decided to completly remove my AC unit. when everything was back together i proceeded to put on the V-belts and noticed my water pump pully did not line up with all the other pullys its just a tiny bit too long. the belt still went on and well actually it runs and works fine. but my belt runs at an angle now. and i am only running one belt currently. So is this going to be a problem if i leave it like this? or should i re-do the job and go get the right size water pump. If it works now and i havnt experienced any problems i should be ok right? its been three days now that i have been running this.

ok thanks for the info i think for what i'll be doing with the car it may be best to swap the tranny as well.

So i am doing a engine swap on 86 rx. and i cant decide if i should change the transmission along with it. I have a AWD diff lock transmission and if i can avoid changing it would be great. I am putting in a EJ2.2T with slight modifications to it. I know the SJR makes adaptor plates and i was planning on going that route. but i also dont want to break my transmission the first AutoX i go to. Whats the communitys thoughts on this?

Hey looking for a rx or xt6 rack and pinion! if xt6 i am also looking for all parts needed to do 5 lug swap. Let me know if you have anything! or any info on how to do a rebuild on a rack. thanks. I havnt had time to go to the JY yet. but if i dont get some responses soon i am going to be forced to go. lol

Yea its leaking at the rack, idk prob just put a new rack in. we'll see. while under there i found out my side seals are leaking too. are those easy to replace never done side seals before.

well i checked the PS and it is leaking. somwhere down below though. I cant find where exactly. turbo is ok. ps fluid was getting on the exhaust making the smoke. looked like turbo was smokin. through some more ps fluid and the whine went away.

ok update on car condition, it just started making a whining noise. Louder then a turbo spooling up. it only makes it when i am putting load on the engine (ie. releasing clutch) and only in gear 1-3. I did a search and what i got back was either P/S pump? cause its louder when going around corners, or clutch release bearing? any ideas? i jus hope its not the turbo... it is still making boost. but it smokes like crazy if it gets a bit hot. never had a ea-82t so any advice? oh the turbo on it is a vf11 out of a legacy

Well, if you guys have been reading my threads you guys should know that i recently purchased crawlerdans RX, from portland, OR. I drove it from there all the way to Denver, co last night. IT made it!!! ea82t no over heating or any problems at all. I was very pleased. There is one small problem coming up. it sounds like the Power steering pump may be going out? it whines when i turn, and it recently has been pulling to the left. Major props to crawlerdan! the rx was better then portrayed. exclent job on all the work. i am defnitly a rx fanatic now! Plans are either full wrx swap or ej2.2t when ever HG goes
