  1. Well, let's just say that I've been there, no guarantees I can find it again...
  2. Just to clarify from Bend,97north/26north/35north to WCSS is clear (as of Aug. 14)?
  3. Ahhh...just a small taste of last weekend:brow: . Nice work:clap: .
  4. Obviously I see a heavily loaded car, but what's really painful to look at is knowing that someone actually manually handled 415 bricks (+ the other stuff). After handling about 8 or 10 bricks of a load about that size, I called in someone to move the rest..I've got too many years and enough "resources" to pay someone to do any backbreaking work like that...congratulations, nice job:clap: !
  5. Yeah, me too! Sounds like a sweet rig .
  6. Great pix Jerermy, can't wait for the vids. Another enjoyable day of wheeling with the guys. Nothing major or hairy, more of a "shakedown run" for TSJ and Jibs. Sorry ya couldn't make it Blue, there'll be plenty of Next Times:D .
  7. Hey guys, I'm gonna hit the Scolari's on Lemmon before arriving at Jeremy's. Anything I can grab while there? I'll probably leave here about 10, you have my number if you think of anything after that;) .
  8. Gotta realize, most dealers don't know anything about cars (and don't care). Very few salesmen might know some about specific models. Those businesses exist solely for the money only. What they know about most is snake oil.
  9. OK, works for me..see y'all tomorrow at 11 at Jeremy's:D .
  10. Dog Valley area is always good: shaded, lots of good terrain, not ridiculously gnarly terrain, and close to Jibs and Subieman's place. How's that?
  11. Uhhh... Did we decide on a place to go wheelin'?
  12. Yeah..around Boca and Stampede is good, wooded and cool. Dog Valley is always a good choice too (but there's nothin' like Tahoe). I guess if we're out late enough, there might even be a few thundershowers:cool: .
  13. Jeremy, I was thinking about some of the Forest Service roads around 267, between Truckee and Kings Beach (Tahoe): 16N56, 16N52, 16N74..Watson Peak/Lake or Brockway Summit area.
  14. I get to drive just about every model new car currently available in the U.S. (no exotics:( ), and the current Subarus have probably the weakest air conditioners. It is NOT your imagination. It feels the same as when one of my Celicas of years past was a little low on freon. In the Subarus, does it blow cool for awhile, then blow not-so-cold, then cool again? Every Subaru I've driven performs that way, regardless of model..OB, Leg, Forester, Impreza, 9-2. The smaller platforms (Forester, Imp, 9-2) are marginally better, but not by much. OTOH, and despite the weak air con, the Subarus are far and away the best car in the snow and ice. Just my 2 bucks
  15. I'm flexible on the place, distance is no problem for me. As long as we're up high, shaded and cool, I'm a happy clam:D .
  16. Well, my sis hasn't notified me of a "family bash" for this weekend, so I'm not needed in Sacramento. About where to wheel: considering the high temperatures lately (and expected high temps for this weekend), might I suggest somewhere around Truckee or north Tahoe. There are a lot of USFS ORV trails up around the summit of hwy 267, wooded and high elevation=cooler temps. Kinda centrally located between you and Brian (well, not exactly centrally for Brian, but closer than Doyle or Moonrocks for him:rolleyes: ). Just found out, you and my Dad have the same birthday:clap: . You have PM's:) . Just my 2 bucks
  17. Cool Mendo, we'll keep some space for ya in our camp:D . If you're gonna scrap that engine shortly, try one of those "Motor Honey" products..it may help the smoking:-\ .
  18. I usually have my passenger handle the nav system:D .
  19. Aww, c'mon..ya gotta bring your EA81:cool: ... OTOH, you could bring both.."Mrs. Subieman" could drive one:rolleyes: .
  20. EA81 wagon, 302,000 miles. Or possibly '07 Forester (company car).
  21. :headbang: WooHOO!! Sooo, it looks like we're on our own Friday, I'll plan accordingly (are you reading this NV crew/TSJ?) . Thanks Eric.
  22. Uhh...bump the on-site food question ...
  23. You're not taking your wagon? You'll miss out on some great trail riding, not to mention the mud pit (I'll loan ya my car if need be)..that's no place for your Leg;) . Sheesh..if this heat doesn't let up, I may have to check out a Forester (the '07s are in) or maybe snag one of the Saabarus...gotta have air, I'll melt:rolleyes: !
  24. Yeah, I noticed that on the Tribeca, too. I'll be watching with anticipation:) .
