i have to say, it does look good lowered.are you going to have to cut the outer fender?if so, you probly could find a fender flare that would look good.

good interior parts are pretty hard to find.alot of mechanical parts are available right from autozone believe it or not.exhausts are hard to find.usually you can find what you need, either here or ebay.are you looking to buy?

hi i found a 360 in jacksonville for free, but i won`t be able to get down there for a couple weeks (3).the guy is willing to hold it for 10 days.if there is someone near jacksonville who would be willing to throw it on a dolley or trailer, bring it home, and keep it for a week and a couple days, i would be willing to pay you whatever you think is fair for the task.please let me know if someone might be available, i would really appreciate it. jon

remove or mask for paint job/ maaco questions
75subie replied to myfinalcoffinx's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
use a propane torch and brillo pads (not sos) first heat up the area where you want to paint off, them wipe it with the brillo pad.comes off like butter if heated up at the right temp.its really pretty easy, i just stripped a whole motorcycle frame this way, and every little thing came right off. jon -
i don`t think thats true at all.if you go to the right macco shop, and have a coupon for one of the better jobs, they may do good for you.i got my 360 painted by them 3 yrs ago, and the paint has held up beautifully.plus for $400 you don`t have to go through the trouble of sanding, priming, and painting and even having the chance of the paint running, or reacting.i would recomend them highly!but its up to you.if you have the time, know-how, and the car doesn`t have much rust, then its up to you good luck, jon

Gen 1 Brat Motorhome Conversion
75subie replied to 75subie's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
that elcamino is awesome where did you find that pic?remember what the conversion was called? -
this is kind of in continuation to this thread, just on a better topic: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=37496 has anybody ever done this?i think it would be a pretty neat rig for like 1 person going x-country.you`d be getting great gas milage, decent comfort, ridin in style, and don`t have to worry about getting stuck with 4wd. you could take a brat with a cap, cut out the rear cab wall, seal the cap on permanently.take out the passenger seat so you could make a full legnth bed on one side, then on the other, put a tv with a microwave and maybe a little sink for campgrounds.then tint the rear windows black, repaint the whole brat and cap, bright white w/winnebago decals.put on a roof a/c system.have full hookups on the side for water, electric, and cable of course.then maybe put a little awning on the back. i know you would have to have alot of time on your hands to do this, but boy would it be neat.i wonder how hard it is to cut the rear of the cab.
-
they will bolt right on.the back 2 are for 78-81 subies, and the fronts are for 82-88 subes.the owner before you must have gotten them off another car for better tires or?if you would like to have a matching set, let me know as i have 2 of the 82-88 types.i always think the beauty rings add a nice touch to the brats.got any pics of your truck?

Info on Fuji Rabbit 4 stroke 250cc S-101s
75subie replied to benebob's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
if you don`t mind it not being totally original mechanically, i would mount a honda 250 scooter motor in it.probly faster, more reliable, and easier to find parts for.i mounted one on a gocart one time.they are pretty easy to put on (not many mount bolts, or wiring)and they go like heck.you could put the original rear wheel back on and nobody would no the difference.until you press the electric start button and give a demonstration:burnout: good luck with it, you might be able to find the original parts from ebay or someone on here. jon -
SUPER SCORE!!!!!!!!! Yay it finally happened!
75subie replied to Tin Soldier's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
make it like this one: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=37477 -
that is beatiful. sure beats paying $22,000 for a baja without a frame though, is it strong enough in the rear not to buckle when it goes over a big bump??did you put supports? i am thinking of finding a creampuff loyal wagon and copying you, looks like a neat project! jon
