  1. Check out my exhaust idea on a 1987 GL wagon. here is the link to my photobucket account. There you will find the paintshop drawing, some pics of my saab after an exhaust upgrade,as well as the old pics of my old brat...Have to take pics of my new rig.after ej22 is in place though. http://s109.photobucket.com/albums/n45/Uberoo/

I am sorry to.For me a toyota is one of those "gnarly big rig 4X4's" Here in lewiston if you want to drive offroad you get a :chevy, ford, dodge, toyota,or nissan. But mostly CFDT's(chevies, fords, dodges, toyotas) The odd part is NO ONE wheels jeeps

    no,screw the toy

Does HP really exist anymore? All of the pics/references to them seem like the last activity was like 4 years ago.Mudrat is dropped of face of earth,Qman is running a taco along with several others.Does hatch patrol even exist anymore? The stuff you guys did in your subies was what got me into subaru's in the first place.
  5. I dont have the air suspension on my car. What I am talking about is just using the compressor, tank, and the air struts, lines, etc but not the computer, then just wire in solinoids so when I hit the switch for low all of the air vents out of the air struts..And have a setting that is lower than stock be the normal ride height... might be a lot cheaper than a "Air ride" kit, especially as everyone wants to get rid of their Air suspension..
  6. What does the EJ sound like with just the Y pipe?My ej swap is really close to being done-few things more to the motor,ie powersteering belt, alternator bolts,Bolt in mpi fuel pump, insert stripped EJ harness into EA car, make the adapter plate out of metal, and put the engine in...but it might be running around with just the y pipe for a bit...How loud is it?
  7. I like my chevies!I love the wider track it gives.Makes the car look bigger than it is,and meaner...

numbchux's state is very important in keeping ORV trails. If his falls, pretty soon all other states will follow suite.hell around here there is talk of land closing just because *********************es tear up the land, drive through fenses,Drive absolutly smashed through a little town near the offroading, vandalize stuff, etc.Granted this area is more like reiter pit people go offroad there but its not an ORV park. I think I need to get my wagon offroad so I can clean up there mess!
  9. I am assuming that the low position doesn't let out all the air.So I bet that if low was 0 psi it could be a good bit lower(Not for driving unless I want to drag stuff off:lol: ) I suppose I could have switches for all struts and maybe a dial to find the right pressure for driving around.Could you imagine an awd "Bagged" subaru station wagon with 450 AWHP:banana: .Really low "for access" and lowish and really fast.
  10. I know most of you do not like the pneumatic suspension. But I have a few questions on it.How much is the adjustment from hi-lo.One project I want to try after my offroad wagon is built and I have some space is a lowered wagon with alot of horsepower. But I was thinking(dangerous things happen then) What if the "hi" setting on the air suspension was say 2" below stock ride hight for standard strut wagons. Then the low is well LOW.Than would solve the lowered subie issue and it might be somewhat practical having the thing "bagged". So how much adjustment is actually present?
  11. So the 3/8 where they NF or NC same with the 5/16 .Or does it matter?lets see fine threads for adjustment and coarse for putting stuff together..I think.
  12. This question is only for those that built there ej-ea adapter plate, but instead of siamiezing the upper holes threaded a screw instead. If you threaded two screws instead of siamizing what size threads did you use? Thanks. My plate is steel..
  13. I think my 15X7 chebbie steelies are 3 or 4" back spacing...tires stick out like 1.25 inches outside the fenders with 205/60/15.Even with that small size I had to do some rear fender clearancing (on full stop the rear fenders would try to eat my tires)
  14. But what if you put an NA engine that is more powerful than the EA82T will ever make reliably?Although if I was doing a EJ swap in a RX 3dr coupe Me thinks a WRX motor plus supporting AWD would OWN anything.
  15. possibly, depends how hard the ground is
  16. bugger!I though those where something non essential like impact sensors..I dunno maybe latter I find some horns that sound like a big rig or train.Ok then for they mean time those stay on...
  17. On my 1987 gl wagon below the headlights and behind the bumper are these circular looking objects.2 in total, one on each side. What are they and what do they do.I pulled my left fender off so I can run the wiring for the ej22 and I found those odd things. After seeing that there really isnt anything there I would like to sawsall that area off and "edit" my bumper to help somewhat offroad.Dont worry the fenders arnt in good shape anyway.one rusted to hell, ones bashed up(someone hit a stump with the lower valance panel towards the right fender...)speaking of the lower valance I removed it because it was smashed as well as one side of the crossmember So before I start rambling(too late? ) what are those circular things, what do they do and most importanly can they be removed?
  18. why will the ECU not be happy?I might put a high flow cat in but right now money is VERY tight.
  19. they "might" assuming you dont burn out, drive around corners fast, etc.Even though they are radials they are still one of the best off tires out there. As such they were meant for offroad-dirt included. If you are that worried you can always have a separate set of elcheapo tires you could run when you are on pavenment.SSR's start at 97 bucks a tire.very cheap compared to other off road tires.buy elcheapo tires with money saved-or grab some "free" tires at the junkyard that might go 5-10K miles...
  20. I think im gonna try to make my exhaust like this: Y pipe of the heads-2.25 pipe to glasspack- 2" y after glasspack-have one 2" pipe exit right infront of rear tire on either side... No Cat...should sound beastly.
  21. So what is a good size pipe for low to mid rpm POWER with ej22.I wonder how duels with a crossover would sound or if they would even be worth it...
  22. I just have a flat 3 connector that goes to cam angle sensor,a flat 3 connector that goes to crank angle sensor, and a 1 wire connector that goes to the knock sensor.Nothing else under intake. Then I have 3 square connectors that come from the left fender.Does dis mean I dont have an O2 sensor?I suppose I could wire everything up,put the motor in and see if starts and throws "o2 sensor" codes...
  23. note to self: an 8" lifted hatch is as tall as a stock taco.
