I have taken over a Legacy GT 2.5 Automatic. This car has, I think, a transmission issue and it is going to the dealer on the 26th of Dec. now, it gets rotten fuel economy, like it goes thru about 25 litres in 160 km or 5 gallons in 100 miles. like 20mpg. is this normal?

First of all, a Weber or a Holley is not "close enough" . I have seen too many people out there that start to file away at the holes to make something fit. This is why you do need an adapter plate. For the Chevette carb, OK, there are some with a Holley 2 barrel, but there are a lot with the Rochester as well. The old problem with the Holley is this.... Lack of idle jet adjustability Linkage goes the wrong way linkage arm is peined on and not bolted. We ship outt of Point Roberts Wa, and I drop ship from one of my suppliers in the eastern US. If you are being charged $3 a minute for long distance to Canada, you are being ripped off. If you use Yak communications, its 5 cents a minute. Anyway, we have new Webers for $360 for the whole kit. We have repair kits, jets, whatever you want. We rebuild them and we also have something very cool, we have a bearing kit for the Weber DGV throttle shafts. NO MORE WOBBLE.

I had this issue on a 88 GL10 turbo auto. I think the rad was gone. the car worked fine otherwise. all the fan worked etc. I must say, that I never changed the thermostat.

dont substitute 17mm for 11/16" its not close enough for me. and if you have any 21mm the 13/16 sometimes does not cut it.

Hi, I have been doing some research. I think the best tire from what I have read, talked to people and talked to tire stores, is the Nokian WR. It is a great all weather tire and has the snowflake symbol on it as well, making it a true snow tire. The other tire I have looked at, and has a lot of good reports is the Bridgestone Potenza G 009 A lot of people like this tire and it does well in the snow. I have been using the Kumho ASX on a Mini Cooper S. I am not that happy with them, they tend to hydroplane a lot.

Your primary idle jet is too small. The way it works is this. If you have the idle mixture screw open, say 7 turns, then you are not getting enough fuel. To prove it, your engine diesels when you turn it off. This is because the temperature in the combustion chamber is higher than normal, and therefore, the carbon that sits around glows red hot. You turn off ignition, and the engine still sucks gas, it gets to the combustion chamber and the glowing carbon doesnt need the spark to keep fuel burning. you need one or two sizes bigger than what you have. the secondary idle doesnt do very much. it may help with a hesitation when the secondary barrel opens

1)There are several adaptor plates for the EA82 that can be used. Has anyone used the "datsun" thin adaptor, redline 99004.300 ? 2)Is there water coming to the carburetor from the Manifold? Will this have to be blocked
