The throttle shafts have gears joining them together, thats how they have syncronous opening.

I dont have any of the used DGAS in stock. Got a new one, they are about $125 more than the DGAV. You see them used, once in a while on Jeeps and Toyotas. They have a twin squirter pump jet, and some have a secondary diaphram for the pump that is acuated by vacuum.

If you have 2 fuel ports on that carb, some do, most dont, you may have the inlet line hooked to the return line. There is only a pinhole in the return line. So it would run till the gas ran out. You have to see if there is gas in the float bowl when the engine dies. If there is no gas, then there is a problem with the needle valve being plugged or a gas filter plugged or there is a problem with the fuel pump. If you have fuel in the bowl, then you have an ignition problem.

Get a longer cable from say a Toyota Pickup, or Nissan Truck. Or get a really long cable like a trunk cable for a Subaru.

Well there is another carb you guys might be interested in. It is called a 38 DGAS. It looks the same as a DGAV but both barrels open up at the same time and the barrels are 38mm.

i was looking at my GL10 turbo and the problem with this kit is that filter would go thru the fender. I am going to look at a number of items i have at work and see if i can rig something up

Thats easy, a real DGAV has a water heated choke, and a converted DGAV has an electric choke.
-
There is the DGV as well, that has manual choke. Remember one thing, you will never see a carburetor say, 32/36 DGEV. They all started life as 32/36 DGAV - A for aqueos, latin, italian whatever. All DGAV's that have an electric choke were converted after they left the factory.

When someone says they have an RX conversion or an RX 4 door, what is that? If it is just having the big headlights on a car that has 4 sealed beams, I have some better solutions for more light power.

any JDM or EDM differences???

For sure the cars with the single headlights (9004 bulbs) there would be a difference. I know a lot about headlights and the 9004 bulb is only allowed in North America. In Japan, they would have an H4 bulb probably in a different housing, or a housing that would look similar to the ones we have. I could have a long talk about headlights and what we can do to improve them. For all you guys with the big headlights, I would convert to the 4 headlight setup and use the H4 units. These have a replaceable bulb that gives an excellent beam pattern and you will see twice as far on low beam and high beam. I also have better bulbs for the 9004 as well -

You will not find a chunk. That is aluminum that has vaporized. We took a Chevy race car to the track 2000 miles away, drove it a few laps and the engine wouldnt run good. Tore the motor down and found the same as that picture. JB Weld is good for some things. maybe that problem. If you can find a good short block for $40 i would get that. Welding will cost a lot more, cuz then you need it machined. -

This is an interesting post. I have a 88 EA82T that someone has put a piece of aluminum sheet between the bolt and the pan. This car sucks back the oil, so, what is the procedure to remove the pan. There is a number of drops under the pan, but to be honest, I have not checked out the valve covers. Any suggestions?

Generally, an idle that goes up and down is an indication of a vacuum leak. Check all rubber hoses and also the vacuum for the power brakes.
