  1. this is a cool idea.
  2. How is the carbed ej22 working?
  3. Great. Ill just use the 4x4 car as a reference. Thanks guys.
  4. I understand the mustache bar. I dont know what a carrier bearing is.
  5. Just made a deal for a rust free 91 FWD EA82 Wagon. 5spd, FWD, Loyale. $200. Can I swap my 87 EA82 D/R 5spd 4x4 stuff into it? I'm going to install the rear portion of my lift at the same time. What is everything I need to complete the swap. The FWD car needs a clutch, the clutch from the 4x4 car is fine. So as far as I know I need to use the 4x4 flywheel? I dunno, what is everything I need. Thanks.
  6. Go to your autoparts store. Buy the Accell superstock plug wire generic set of 10, they are 8mm and it was like $50 canadian. It came with good sizes for the boxxer engine. Get the Accell superstock coil. And then get new plugs. As for a clutch, ebay?
  7. Just got me ej22, it even came with a spare intake manifold
  8. The EJ manifold probably isnt the best choice for a carb though is it. I mean its not really made to flow fuel. I wonder how tough it wuold be to just make a new manifold.
  9. Bump for good thread with great info.
  10. WRX = TURBO. Definatly go with a 99 Forester Motor. SOHC, very reliable, 160 underrated horsepower. Very easy to coax more hammies out of that. Also, early WRX are all 2.0L I wouldnt hesitate to go with a turbo for offroad if I could afford it. I would pay special attention to securing ALL the exhaust as high and as tight as possible on the car. I would also run a significantly smaller turbo.
  11. Do not put the chains on the rear tires. You will just understeer and its quite dangerous.
  12. Umm. With that much horsepower why dont you go with a 31" tire?
  13. Interesting. I guess for now I'm stuck with 3.90. At least I know I can put an LSD in the front and weld the rear.
  14. Alluminum shavings will do less to a motor than most think.
  15. Yes. What trannies did you have apart. I want to swap the ring ang pinion gear in as a set. Do you think the ring/pinion gear (essentially the whole diffrential) from a 90-94 legacy 5m/t will go into the EA82 case?
  16. I know it has been discussed. But the threads its in are so full of fluff I cant reconize the answer. The auto trannies are a totally different animal than the m/t. I want the gear for offroading. I figure even a 4.11 will make a huge difference once Im in 4Lo. Im aware the carriers work, clutch LSD for me plz. But was hoping I could get a lower gear as well.
  17. Will a 4.11 or 4.44 ring and pinion gear go into the the 5spd N/A EA82 Dual Range tranny? Im like 100% sure that a 4.44 wont work. But dont some 5spd legacy's use the same front diff design and have a 4.11 gear?
  18. Oh, And I cannot access your webpage. Is it me or is it down?
  19. Silver Powder Coat would look bomber on those man.
  20. testy replied to Phizinza's topic in Off Road
    haha, that brat looks STUCK!
  21. Also, what do you do with all the old sensors etc... Do you just yank em and chuck them? Or put bolts from where they came from? And Vacuum lines same thing? Dont think I have any more questions.
  22. Scott. Nice work man. I just bought an ej22 from my mechanic. And my lift should be here in a week or so. Think you could pm me a christmas list or better yet post it here for everyone. Need ALL the parts to make this happen. Also, could I send the intake manifold down to get setup for a weber 32/36? And send a disty down to be ground.
  23. Nice. I asked him for red blocks too haha. Almost ready to ship that sucker?
  24. Wow. Your the man. Got an estimated time line on this? I'd like to be one of your first customers shooting for mid april to have the motor installed.
